Arch

Hey ladies! Are you having a wedding arch? If not, are you having something in the place of it (ex: chalupa)? Also, around how much do they cost to rent?

Re: Arch

Thanks Charley. I'm not craaaaaaazy about the arch either. But, I've also seen some that looked nice. My sister had a chalupa (chupa) at hers and I really like that that look. I think I'll check with my venue to see if they have a list of some vendors.

Re: Arch

Hi ladies I will be having a Chuppa. I don't have the slightest idea of where I will rent one from, but I will be visiting our resident bridal diva Niquey and I will pose the question to her.

Re: Arch

I have never heard of a chuppa post a pic so I can see one. Perhaps I've seen them and didn't know what it was called. An arch can be pretty if properly decorated, I've seen them at weddings and they look really nice. I'm not having an arch. If there is a Ray Rents in your area check with them about rental or any place that rent out supplies for weddings and receptions. If you are using a kneeling bench and candlelabras they may be able to rent from the same place. Charly that arch you shared looks very nice for an outside wedding.

Re: Arch

I think the arch marks the spot of an alter so they would be better suited outside where you can target an exact spot to use as the alter...other than that I will stick to pillars arranged with flowers in the church.

I prefer a chuppa/chalupa/chupa. I've seen searches on all of the names. lol I don't know where I'm going to rent one from though. My sister paid around $300 for hers. She got married at the Baltimore Marriot Waterfront. (I think the place took the price up because of the location).

Re: Arch

I always say this because a florist once told me this...you can work wonders with ribbons, tulling maybe some fern and a lot of babies breath.....you can be as creative as possibly and make your own chuppa or tell the florist to use these items, it should not be as pricy as if you were usig roses and lillies.

Babies Breath

Substitute Babies breath for those lillies

A friend of mine rented her's from McGowan's. She said the rental was $100 and she had to leave a $200 deposit. You can also rent them from Party Central at Essex Green shopping mall in West Orange.

I plan on having an Arch (w/lights) for $35 from Micheal's craftstore. My wedding ceremony is going to be 15-20 minutes, tops. I'm doing the big spending on the reception hall.

I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.

That's exactly what I was talking about. Micheal's has the rosery as well for like 5 bucks (or buy one get one free, depends on the week).

Re: Arch

Thanks ladies for the suggestions. I saw the ones at Michael's and Party City and they just looked like they were going to fall apart - my opinion. I seriously doubt if I have time to decorate an arch (my nerves are going to be too messed up to do that). lol

Bossie, how did the one look from McGowans? I called another store called "Fantasy" in Elizabeth and they had 2 for $25 and $75. If I find an arch that I looove, I will go with it because arches seem to be much cheaper than chuppa's.

It was very pretty. I have some pictures of her wedding at home. I will show you when I see you. The only thing is that it came in peices. I think maybe 3 peices that had to be put together. It was already decorated though.

I checked and they do not have a website. They are located at 954 Sherman Avenue in Elizabeth.

Aren't we still going to the city on Saturday? If so, bring them and show me then.

Rhony, Sherman Ave runs parallel to Frelinghuysen/Newark Ave. They have a 2nd floor that is filled with nothing but wedding/party things. You should go and check them out.
