Bridal Portrait Anyone?

Are any of you ladies going to get a Bridal Portrait done by your photographer? I suggest you do if you're not. When I went south last week to take care of business that was one of my appointments. When you see your proofs you will be able to see yourself and decide if you want to change your hairstyle, make up etc.

I got dressed at the studio, had my hair the way I sort of will wear it during the wedding, had my makeup the way it sort of will be , had on the jewelry etc. I felt like a professional model. The photographer took lots of pictures with me posing different ways, with the veil, without the veil, with the tiara, different background, outside in a park and at a beach. It was great. My mother was with me and she snapped a couple of pictures with her own camera. My mother also took pictures of me sitting in the back seat of the photographers SUV for that Limo look. I was beaming and feeling extra pretty and it's not even July yet.

The pictures my mother took came out beautiful. I said wow! Imagine the professional photos. Now I know I don't want some of my hair resting on my shoulders on each side. It reminded me of two rat tails sticking out. The makeup wasn't bad but I'll make a better determination on that when I see the proofs. It will be available on line around May 1.

P.S. That was the first time my gown was out of the bag since I bought it Dec. 2004 and it was still georgeous and not wrinkled. It still fits too. I'm going to have the portrait displayed during the reception. I always liked the way the Bridal Portrait looked in someones home. Now I'll finally have one.

Marsh, my photographer will take "engagement" photos of us (whenever I make the appointment). This topic is a good suggestion though - thanks!

My first thought to this suggestion was I do not want anyone to see me before I actually get to the church and I want to feel very special putting on my dress for the first time on my wedding day..soemhow when I wear clothes twice the feeling is different. But I like the idea of it being in the reception hall

Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.

Great advice Marshine. I never thought about that. I will have "engagement" pictures as well. I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

I have to wedding gowns that I will be wearing on my Wedding Day. So I'm going to take my Bridal Portrait in the 2nd gown that I have chosen. Because I want to wear the 1st gown for the Ceremomy only.

My wedding is no where near $200,000 I old never spend that much, if I did just have 200,000 lying around. My final budget that we decided on was $30,000.00 and not $60,000.00. My mother wants me to wear 2 dresses.

Marshine!

The bridal portrait idea is lovely. What my fiance and I did was we had what we call a love sitting...which is similar to the engagement shots. We did them outdoors....it was really nice. We are having one framed to be used for signing by the guests as opposed to the traditional guest book. We will then have it framed and hung with the signatures after. The look is beautiful...

That's a unique idea and a good one. I wish I had an alternative to the guest book but with 300 guests I don't think there is one.

Hey there Plumeria, and welcome to the boards. You and you fiance have a wonderful ideas. I never heard of a love sitting before. That's great, and to use one of the photos as an alternative to the guest book is really hot! This site is so amazing you can get some really creative things.

We decided on 200 guests final. We wanted more but 200 guests is enough.
