Candle lighting

If we are using the prayer bench, do we kneel and pray BEFORE we light the candle or AFTER? also, the song I want is about 4 min. long-is that too long for the lighting and kneeling?

Re: Candle lighting

Hi sweetie, If you're having a christian wedding, after the vow exchange is usually when the pastor asks you both to kneel for the prayer. Then you light your unity candles. I'd advise having the music start immediately as you and your husband will rise from the prayer to light your Unity Candle. When you're finished, then your MOH, BM and Pastor could sign your marriage certificate, thereby prolonging the whole process. This should give you your 4 minutes.

You can if you want...We did the communion-kneeling on the benches, and after that, we walked over to light the unity candle....Our parents lit each candle when they walked in before the wedding party...and we lit the middle one with the ones they lit...
