hey friends....here are a few pics i took today... i made the centerpieces for my head table and cake table...tell me what yall think...the bases are mirror tiles...and most of them will be floating candles...i just didn't add the water

Thanks guys....it helps to post them, then come back and look at them on the screen (like an onlooker)...I couldnt visualize them yet in my mind on the tables... but I went to my godson's house earlier and watched his parents video from the reception (we both picked the same venue) and it it really starting to come together.

I have been making centerpieces for church affairs but no weddings yet...til now.

Island girl I saw these last night on my monitor at home but it was not until I cam to work wher my monitor is much clearer and I really truly got a birds eye view and see how extremly beautiful they are...you aer so talented, its amazing the talent on this site.

hey ladies...thnx for the love...the colors are red white and silver....each one cost about 5 bux to make....only for my head table though...the guests' tables are going to have a silver candelabra supplied by the venue. Glad u guys like them...see we can do this thing ourselves!

Did you say 5 bucks per?! Now, I'm inspired!!! This weekend, I'm going to Micheal's, Pearl's, & Rag Shop/ Old Time Pottery and see how "creative" I can be...Decorating the head table would be the easiest for me, but its the 20 guest plus the 4-6 buffet tables that are going to drive me nuts!

now remember u only get the candles/floral stems from Michael's...glassware from walmart/or/thrift shops...

Time to testify!!!!!!!! Some of you may not be aware...but let me just say God is so good to me!!!!!!!
I had a stroke in August..lost a lil memory but I'm totally back on track now.....I stoppedteaching...to alleviate the stress...and have been out of work since October. My application that I put in, in 2002 has finally surfaced! And I have been offered a job with total full benefits...at the same college where I am enrolled!!!!! Now I can finally go back to my dream....Forensics!(put it on the back burner since my health was failing) and still have the benefits...while working there..I am so excited...I start work on the 21st after the wedding...ladies I know you guys must be sick of my hindparts on here ....lol...but God is worthy to be praised and I have promised that in exchange for the desires of my heart..I will witness for Him...thank you for listening..and if my presence has impacted atleast one person on here....then it was worth the trip.. Love you guys!!!!!!

Island let me tell you something...even before u wrote this post, I was honestly thinking and about to post what an asset you have become in the short time you have been here on Vibride. You are informative yet very creative and you hold a wealth of valuable knowledge.....Now after scrolling doen to see the latest, I read your testamony.....God is Faithful and he never changes, I have proven Him over and over again and it is so amazing that in spite of all our wrongs He is the same. I am so filled with tears writing this but not sad tears but tears of joy that this passion in my heart that I have for the Lord others have and are not ashamed of it. Hey There Island......everyone is wonderful, my son is back in school today (off course he is not happy about that). Oh you are getting your dress today...so cool but what do you mean by bustled?...you know ya girl lil slow :-)

bustled is when they add 3 tiny buttons on the back of the gown...as well as tiny loops...so after the ceremony and picture taking ..at the reception my mom will tie up the back so to speak so that it will be up and off the floor for dancing

God is good all the time.....and all the time God is good! He will make a way out of no way. Island, first of all let me say congrats on your wedding. Secondly, I love the centerpieces.Very creative. Thirdly, congrats on the job. I am getting teary eyed because I know what God has done for me. So many times people focus on the negative and they can't wait to run and tell negative things about people. I rejoice in the renewed and positive things. Congrats to you!!!

I love those ideas for the centerpieces. I have a beach teme. If I used sand ans sea shells at the bottom of the bowls w/ a floating candle that would work? Do you think the sand would look to muddy?

Hey copper...no it will not be muddy....maybe a little sandy when you pour on the water depending on how fast you pour it in and if you do, then it will be a little CLOUDY....and settle shortly thereafter....but definitely not muddy. If you take your time and pour you can avoid the cloudiness also.

That's what I was afraid of . Maybe I should just use rocks since I won't be physically placing the centerpieces myself.

I would go with the rock...not only would it not be cloudy but it will be prettier especially if you use colored stones.

Well if I use the colored rocks should I not incorporate the shells also? What else could I use with the rocks?

Your theme is a beach theme right!?.....so you CAN use the rocks (small ones) or pebbles, still use your shells and if possible through a little fish in each bowl, create a fish tank (if you will) it'll be perfect and it could also be a surprise for someone maybe sitting in the right chair or something like that (hint hint).
