Church Pew Question

Hi all,
I'm concerned about the church I'm getting married in. It has 3 sets of pews. One in the middle and one on each side....so there's no center aisle. Which aisle do I walk up and where does each side of the family sit? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Church Pew Question

my cousin had the same problem at her wedding. her guest list wasn't that long and there weren't enough people there to fill up the church so she just picked one side of the church to have her wedding...she had the her family on the left and the grooms family in the middle. she had ushers to make sure everyone was seated in the proper section of the church. however, if your guests do fill up the church, you might have more of a problem and i couldn't tell you what to do. in the event that your guest list is short enough to do this, it worked out quite nicely for my cousin...

Re: Church Pew Question

I hope this doesn't come too late to be of help. I attended my best friends wedding in South Carolina and the church was set up the same way. So the wedding party entered the service from the right side(facing the altar) and after the service we exited down the left side. That way everyone was able to see the bride and all the attendants regardless of where they sat.

Re: Church Pew Question

At my church it's just the opposite of Mzoor.
The bride comes down the left side and they all exit the church up the right side. At my wedding I'm planning to do something a little different regarding family. Since we have a center pew, I'm having all family members (his and mine) seated in the center. I figure we're family now so we might as well get use to being together.

Family affair! So cool Connie.

That's cool Connie! Let's hope they all get along! Would you decorate the center pew any differently?
