Discouraged...Again

Oh bless you! It's going to get better. Sometimes things have a way of working out for our good even though we may not see it at the time. God has an awesome plan just trust and believe that. Not sure of the exact situation but is it possible to do your wedding on a smaller scale but it still be platinum style? There are so many corners to cut. Also,remember the most important thing is uniting with your sweetie the wedding is just a public display. At any rate, keep your head up, pray and by all means don't be discouraged things always work out for our good!

How much is your wedding buudget? Are you living with your fiance? You should not move your date back again. It is sad but true that the more you move your date bak, the less likely you will get married. Especially if you are living together already.

Find a place that will marry you AND hold the reception. Only give ONE small favor. There are lots that are under $1 at the vibride mall. Instead of full dinner have hors d'ouerves and drinks. It is a very elegant and inexpensive alternative. DOnn't attempt to buy food and cook it yourself. It usually cost you more than just getting it catered!

If you don't have your dress already consider seeing if you can pay for one in installments, rent one (this is perfect if you plan on using it only once and won't pass it to your daughter.) or get one used. Try a white formal evening gown and a traditional bridal veil. That will save you hundreds right there.

Stop trying to create a Star Jones wedding if you are on a budget. People that you invite love you and just want to see you happy. They will talk about you no matter how big an event it is. People still talking about Star's wedding and that was gorgeous.

Oh Plat - honey it'll be ok (been there done that) but it will be ok....why don't you and honey go to the JP for now just to make it legal and then have a big wedding after the finances have been sorted out?

I am thrilled for you and we have ever confident that you can pull of a fabulous wedding later...look at it as a blessing - you get to take your time, shop around and buy everything you want :-)

Plat, I can definitely synpathize with you situation. I have been in the same place. That's one of reason's that we are renewing our vows, we are going to have the ceremony and reception that we could not have before. Even though we are able to have a wedding I am still having to be " financially creative" LOL, because we still have our kids to take care of and life does go on after the wedding! So please don't be discouraged. You wiil have what you want you just have to be a little patient.

Platinum I hope everything works out for you. I really would hate for you to have to push your date back yet again...that would really suck after you had your heart and plans set on the first date......and another date, then another date....I like the idea of going to the JOP then having a wedding later, lately FH and I have been think of doing the same think due to financial issues, settling into a new job, and major family issues....nut like you we are strong and we will work it all out........

My girl drives those big trucks...in my book she is a warrior princess so this is small things for her to handle.

Platinum keep your head up. Go to your comfort place at home and pray ernestly. The Lord knows what you're going through and He's bringing you through this for a reason. Listen to Him.

I had to push my wedding from this year to next, so I do understand how you feel. But take it from it's been a true blessing to push it out a year. Things are falling into place better. Just trust God and things will work out just fine. I will keep you guys in my prayers.
