Hello TJ and welcome. I was thinking maybe you and your family can go on a trip like to an island or just some where nice and have the ceremony. i'm pretty sure these ladies on here can tell you about plenty of places to go if you're interested.

Hi TJ, How many people total are we talking? Will you not have any guests? If you don't want to do the justice of the peace (JOP), I know in Florida, many resorts, and hotels will do a whole wedding and small reception for a very intimate wedding. You can do an intimate ceremony at church-a member of my church did this-and had refreshments in the church's fellowship hall for the few family and friends who helped out and attended. I mean it doesn't take long: 10-30 minutes for the ceremony and about 2-3 hours for refreshments at the fellowship hall:)
It all depends on the number of people who will attend. You can get a restaurant to cater the foods-fingerfoods and light drinks (citrus punch, tea, lemonade)is good for an afternoon/brunch reception... and then you won't be too full to do pictures after the reception if you want to wait instead of right after the ceremony.
You can do something initmate at a nice botannical or garden park and then have a nice picnic with music, or you all can book a private area at your favorite nice restauraunt so you can get that space decorated and order your favorite dishes or some new dishes. Arrange for a wine tasting at the restauraunt....Just a few suggestions:)
Hey there ThreJolyn and welcome to the boards! If you still want to have a "traditional" ceremony, you still can. How old are your children, how many do you have? I believe you can have a traditional ceremony because I am having minor issues as well. My bridal party is dragging their feet! I am two seconds from cutting them as well. In the event that I have to do that, my daughter will be my maid of honor and we will continue as planned. Can your children give you away. Perhaps an older child can be your Maid of Honor and younger ones can be a flower girl or ring bearer. It is your wedding, you can do it your way no matter what. In any event I wish you all the best. Keep us posted.
Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37
You don't need a bridal party at all. You can have a huge wedding WITHOUT a bridal party. Consider a ringbearer and flowergirl only or just a herald to announe your arrival beore you walk down the aisle.
All you need dear are you, your man & the ones you love. If you are having a ceremony w/ no bridesmaids and still being walked down the aisle and what not, make the kids your 'bridesmaids' or 'groomsmen' add your own flavor to the wedding if they are old enough the kids can walk down the aisle with candles if they are too young they can still toss out flowers and stand by your side.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way. ~ Pablo Neruda

See and for your pain I feel ya! That is why I booked a cruise and we are getting married in Jamacia while on the cruise. No need for a bridal party, it will just be myself and my FH.
Otherwise, for yourself, I like the idea of the children being your bridal party!
