FH and l have friends and family everywhere around the world (we are Zimbabwean lol).So in order to ensure that everyone or at least almost everyone we grew up with can make it to our big day,l was wondering if sending an informal email wedding invite now would be a good idea.At least people can save if they have to as well as plan ahead.
What are your views ladies?

I've personally never liked the idea of emailed invitations for formal events. I would probably do it more so as an announcement/save the date making sure to include some general tourist information. You can probably even include some links to places of interest in your email.

Ditto Pamcrow. I agree. I would recommend "save the dates".

I would do Save The Dates as well. Are you getting a block of rooms at any hotels? You caould include that information. Also tourist stuff like Pam mentioned: attractions, places to eat, things to do, etc. If you have a wedding website you could provide a link there as well.
thanx girls
I personally wouldnt mind an e-mailed or a verbal save-the-date since it is a way to save money, just as long as you are not doing the same with the invitation.
