Sistas....since we're so good w/advice, I need ideas/advice. Now that I've got the rock on my hand (about darned time), I now have to buy FH an engagement gift(it's not fair that we should do this). Question 1: Anyone else do this? Question 2: What did you get your FHs (I don't need 2 know costs; that's private & between u & your Amex Cards). Question 3: How soon after did you give this gift or on what occassion did you do it?
I've been engaged almost a year in December. Am I too late? I really didn't know this was customary. I really thought his butt was just looking for a gift from me only 2 turn the tables & complain about my spending habits.

P.S. Do you think I can get away w/an XBox360 for now & a sentimental gift for the wedding present?

Hey there MrsRobinson2b. I didn't get my future hubby an engagement gift. I didn't know it was customary either. I try and show him every day how much I love and appreciate him. I will however, present him with a gift (don't have a clue yet) on our wedding night.

No, no engagement gift here either. It just so happened that he proposed on our 7-year anniversary so we "exchanged" gifts then. We will definitely exchange gifts at the rehearsal dinner.

I am going to write a note to my fh and have one of the attendants give it to him the morning of our wedding.

House, someone else had mentioned this a while ago too. I was thinking of doing it, but giving him the note while he's at the alter.
Yes all, this is supposedly customary. Guess I'm not as "snooty" as I've been told I am as I didn't know this rule. I like housewife & Septbride's ideas. Perhaps I'll do that too. Rhonda, I agree w/you. I do those things daily & darn it, that should duffice!!!

No gift here either.He is hinting that he wants a chain to match the bracelet I gave him 3 Christmases ago and is only now wearing.
