Yeah, I know, this is when the crunch really kicks in....but I love when the seasons change and we get closer to Christmas. I love to decorate the tree, wrapping gifts, the smell of pine needles, I even like the snow. This year I'm doing a few handmade ornament for my tree. I'm starting that tradition with my sons (my three kings).
What's you favorite time of year?

Living my life like it's GOLDEN!!
That is a very nice tradition to begin, I love the idea! that is something when they get older and you look back at how much they have grown up. AWWW...Teary eyed
This is also my favorite time of the year, when all the family holidays come around. I just get that warm feeling when I think of Thanksgiving, all the kids running around and all of the adults laughing and catching up. I love Christmas, seeing the smiles on my kids (and siblings) faces when they see the tree and presents. as much i dont like to go out in the snow, I love when you wake up christmas morning to the ground covered with snow, beautiful scene.
My favorite time of the year is ThanksGiving. There is no better feeling than having all of my family and loved ones around. We are a very close knit family and we get together and share our love, laughter and of course good food! Tomorrow is not promised to anyone so those times when we can get together are all the more special. -- Everyday I am thankful, but it is even more special when we can get together collectively as a family and say THANK YOU GOD!!!!

From November to Febuary is my favorite time of the year!!!!
Because I love Fall-Winter clothes....the boots, sweaters, cute chic jackets and coats Its soooo Diva style. I also love November because of Thanksgiving, December because of the Christmas Spirit and January because of the clean and fresh start of a New Year and my Bday is on the 5th of January sooo that is perfect. I celebrate my BDAY all month. I also love Feburary because of Valentines Day.

Ditto. I love the Fall. I love fall clothes and all my favorite colors just happen to be fall colors.
As far as holidays, I love Thanksgiving and New Years. My family is very close and we are always having family gatherings but there is something extra special about Thanksgiving. New Years is always exciting thinking about everything you made it through over the past year and the opportunity for changes in the next. I absolutely love it.

Winter is my favorite time of the year. Holiday decorations go up, and the weather in SoFlo dips down into the 70s.
I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.
Delight yourself also in the Lord & He shall give you all the desires of your heart.-Psalm 37:4
I love this time of the year too. Unfortunately, my husband's family doesn't get into those things as far as decorating, and baking. But they are great gift-givers (go-figure)...So I decided that once we buy a house, and stop all this traveling every year (well year #2 for us), we can start our own traditions and start having people over. I am already tired of the traveling....! But my family did it big with decorations, light, trees, cookies & cake, candles, music. I may start decorating our little apartment little by little and try to stay consistent with it!

I had extended my engagement for almost a year and a half in order to have my wedding during my favorite time of the year, spring. March through May encourages soft, beautiful colors, smiles and good feelings during the best weather God provides us. Even when it rains, it is calming during this season.
I love the winter holiday months. I love being around family, it's always tears, reminising, decorating and cooking together. I love family get togethers especially for the food just thinking about it makes me hungry the herb roasted turkey and stuffing, the greens, baked macaroni, candy yams, rice, potato salad, ham, fresh rolls and cornbread, jellied cranberry sauce, punch oh my goodness how many more days til Thanksgiving. The one problem I have with the holiday's is on my birthday (January 1) someone always has the house the smelling like chitterlings, black eye peas and pigfeet. ( my least favorite foods) I always tell my Nana it's my birthday please stop making this every year but she believes it brings money and prosperity, so I let it slide.

Christmas time in the Virgin Islands is great. There's the warm weather, the beach,
homecooking, sweet bread, rum cake, guavaberry wine, pineapple, coconut, guava, and
gravaberry tarts. Giving presents and all the warm feelings. St. Croix has their Carnival at Christmas time too.
Then there's Old Year's Night (what is known as New Year's Eve in the states) and partying
On New Year's day we eat some kallaloo (similar to collard greens) with pork/shrimp/smoked turkey.
Then there's Three Kings Day (also known as Epiphany) another holiday to celebrate by taking down the Christmas tree.

Well I love the Holiday season, Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite times of year But I must admit, I love June and July. I dont know, I just love the summer. One reason is because my daughter's B-Day in in June and mine and my son's is in July. But I have a pretty large family and we do alot of summer activities and outings. Even though it gets REAL HOT, we usually make the best of it.

I use to really love Thanksgiving because that is when all of my family would get together for our Annual Family gathering at either my grandmothers house or one of my aunts..but since my son passed away, family illnesses, elderly family members who can no longer travel etc..only a few people still get together so it is not the same...
Divas-hold onto and enjoy each and every moment of your special gatherings and memories!! I wish you all much health, wealth and good eating :)

Rhonny, I did a lot of research about Three Kings Day some years ago for work when we were paying tribute to different cultures. As I recall, it is mostly celebrated in Spanish-speaking countries and/or in Europe. Maybe because the Virgin Islands was once owned by Spain, Britain, the Netherlands, France, and Denmark is why it's part of our holiday celebration.
Three Kings Day, also known as The Epiphany, is celebrated on January 6th, twelve days after Christmas. It is often viewed as the last day of the Christmas season (the end of the 12 days of Christmas).
Epiphany (Greek for "to manifest" or "to show"), is a Christian feast day which celebrates the "shining forth" or revelation of God in human form in the person of Jesus Christ. The feast falls on January 6. Western Christians commemorate the visitation of the Magi (the Three Kings) to the child Jesus on this day, i.e., his manifestation to the Gentiles.
In some countries, it's much more of a celebration. In Mexico, it is traditional for children to leave their shoes, along with a letter with toy requests for the Three Kings, by the family nativity scene or by their beds. In some parts of northern Mexico the shoes and letters are left under the Christmas tree. The shoes may be filled with hay for the camels, so that the Kings will be generous with their gifts.
As far as I know, in the VI, it marks the day to remove your Christmas decorations. I don't know if other VI people have other customs that day, but they probably do because there's a large French-speaking population and now there's also a large Spanish-speaking population as well.
You can find some good info here: Three Kings Day
