Ladies, remember when I told y'all about my plan to up my abstinence time from 6 months before the wedding to the New Year? Well, I just spoke to FH about it and this is how the convo went. {Keep in mind, we have had a very active sex life for 8 years now}
Me: Baby, remember I was talking about abstaining before our marriage?
FH: Yeah
Me: Well are you still okay with it?
FH: Yeah. Wait....how long did you say again?
Me: The New Year.
FH: DAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!! That's 9 months!!!
Me: Yeah, I know. But, are you willing to support me on it?
FH: Yes baby.
Y'all I'm sooo proud of him! And me for that fact, it's going to be a loooooong 9 months. I don't know how some of you ladies made it for more than that!
I know I don't want to have intercourse because I want our wedding night to be sooo special. But, does abstaining include ALL sexual acts?

Yes, it includes all sexual acts! No compromising on that! Trust me been there done it got the marriage license to prove it! Not that we got married in order to have sex when we wanted but because we were living together and wanted to do the right thing in God's eyes. It's a sacrifice and I feel despite our slip ups here and there we did well but even with 2 committed individuals it can be hard. Many blessings to you both and my prayers are with you. It will be all good! We're even going to stop having sex a month before our wedding so that it can be special.

Kissing and cuddling was our routine but sometimes it can get a little heated! It takes alot of work but if you guys have been together for 8 years I'm sure that your relationship is strong enough to do it. However, I understand if you can't so maybe going the route we have taken may be in your best interest. Blesings!

lol - I am cracking up reading these posts. No, he hasn't asked/nor will the date be moved up. We're just going to have to think of other things to do. Y'all please keep us in your prayers!!! I think that's the only thing that's going to get us through those 9 months. My girlfriend said up until the New Year, he's probably going to be acting like a fool trying to get some! lol

This is something that I have been thinking about. Currently my FH and I don\\\\\\'t live together, so I beleive that it will not be as hard. We plan on moving in together about a month or two before the wedding, and I have know doubt that I will need alot of prayer then.

Okay...I just need to say this. It all sounds good and it would be wonderful if they could wait, but don't believe it. January is a long way from now, so she's just talking. Ask her about it in February and see what she says. Trust me ya'll, I know her by know.
We abstained for 14 months...with no SLIP UPS. I was the one instigating all the time tryin to get stuff started, but by month three we were both numb lol. It is the hardest sacrifice I have ever been a part of. But wedding night makes it all worthwhile....(probably why I'm in the shoes I'm in now lol)

lol! @ some of these posts....trust me after a while all that hand holding, going to the movies ...peck on the cheek goodnight will get older that grandma's housecoat. Trust me I have BEEN THERE. You need lots of prayer and always remember, do not allow yourself to be put into any position that will cause any accidents....if this is what you want...keep your focus..it will be difficult in the beginning.
