flowers for an october wedding

I am new to this board and looking to get some advice on my almost Halloween wedding! I DO NOT and I REPEAT I DO NOT want those ugly orange and black colors! I don't know what to do or what to choose. When we choose a date last year the colors were perfect but we had to postpone planning and start again this year ( and THANK GOD it is a go this time lol). I just want to know what is pretty and romantic for a true fall wedding. Any advice?

Welcome atlantafallbride05 and congrats! I had planned on a fall wedding but have had to postpone. There are such rich colors during the fall: gold, sienna, deep reds, and bronzes. Think of zinnias and marigolds, or the colors of the changing leaves! Dahlias, and roses come in deep reds and burgundies, too. lots of luck--oh, check some of the bridal mags, too.

thank you jwelch! It must suck to have to postpone your wedding. you should have seen me last year! I was so sick. But the good thing is.. I dont have to get a new dress or shoes or anything like that. The hardest part is trying to convince my fiancee why we need a videographer! We found a guy on this site though and the person we found is great. He is willing to do quality work at a fraction of the cost and he is going all out for us. WE are happy. Maybe I should recommend him and bring him some big business! Thanks again for the ideas! I will definitely keep those in mind!

Fall weddings are great! There are some beautiful deep red roses, some orange and some gergera daisies that come in some deep hues. Fall colored leaves are great for the flower girl to toss instead of petals. Flowers come in so many beautiful colors that any time of the year your color choices can be accomadated! I am having a fall wedding also. My date is October 1st. My colors are cranberry, ivory and silver. My coordinator found a florist that would die my flowers Calla Lillies for me to the colors that I want. She also found a star gazer lilly (which is my favorite flower) in several different hues that would look nice with my color scheme. I hope this helps you out.

When is the wedding? Stay away from dark colors if it is an evening wedding. Find out what flowers are in season during the time of the wedding. THis way you won't be charged a lot for specialty or hot house flowers! Oh and keep it simple! Flowers cost more than anything else at the wedding hands down!

I am a dedicated romantic. Oh yeah and a dedicated Trekkie too. LOL. I love this site!
