FH is at it again. He keeps changing his mind. At first we were planning a big wedding. Then some of FH's family started acting up, we were considering eloping. Then, last night he called me. It seems that he ran into some of his "boys" he hadn't seen in a while and now he wants a big wedding so he can include them. I asked him when does he expect the wedding to take place, he says as soon as possible. What is he thinking?? I'm like "hello???" ...
1. I don't know these guys.
2. What do you mean "as soon as possible"?
3. Does he expect me to just throw a wedding together?
AAAAAUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!! I just want to choke him! Did you FH act like this? Thanks for letting me vent.

In the planning stages, my hubby couldn't or wouldn't contribute anything, ideas, nothing. As we got closer to our date, brother man got even more crazy -- maybe he got cold feet or something. However, when we went for our rehearsal, brother man became energized, talking about "it's my day too!". He insisted on walking down the aisle and fussed with the wedding coordinator to change to do things the way he wanted.
I guess every husband/future husband is different. Since he wants a big wedding now, girl get your planning on!!! LOL!!!

Plat you already have your dress selected and a place. I know you've looked at your other vendors so its not like you're starting from scratch. Girl set a date and get moving. Present him some cost info in writing and have him give his "final answer" and go from there! No take-backs!
I agree with Future. I first got hubby to agree on a date. Then I started making plans, at first he seemed uninterested. Leave your fh a folder/file. This is what I did. My husband didn't want to talk about anything. I left folders/files with information, prices and pictures for him to look at, at his leisure. Set a date and don't let no one deter you from what it is that you want. It's time to live your dreams my friend.

So, I'm not the only one. I asked my FH & he hemmed an hawwed about at date and gave generalites; so I told him that I was going to pray on it. The date came and he agreed to it. Then drama, so basically I told him that I was going to continue to plan, report, & whenever he wanted to chime in at any time (currently still waiting for some "real" input).
The ladies advice is one that I too plan on taking.

No TeWright1, you are not the only one. I felt like I was pulling a mule at times. I asked him if he really wanted to get married and he said yes. But I know sometimes we as women, get so excited and some men just aren't like that. However, when I see him looking at our pictures he says that he's glad that I took "charge" and planned the wedding because our day was all the more special because of it!

FH told one of his cousins that we were planning a wedding. She called yesterday and says "I heard you're planning to have a big wedding. I want be your MOH." (What the ??) I politely told her that I already had one. So then she says "Well, you can have another". Excuse me, who's wedding is it?... I wasn't planning on having her in my wedding to begin with. How can someone think they can just force themselves into wedding party AND appoint their own position?
Can you believe this?
Born Blessed!
Plat all I can do is laugh to keep from snappin! The nerve of some people! Are you two even remotely close? I'm guessing not since she's not in the wedding party at all. I would tell her "You betta talk to DH about being a groomswomen cause my side is done!"
No we're not close, I really don't that much about her. FH's mom and her dad are siblings. She didn't grow up with FH and most of the family but she is trying to build a relationship with everyone now. She okay as a person, a little phony sometimes, though.

DON'T DO IT PLAT!! :) I got one better Turiya-my friend had planned her wedding down to the tee-her then FH sis called and said she wanted her daughters to be in the wedding (at the last min) so guess what...she DID take her daughters out (to keep the peace and stay fair she says) how in the h*&& is this fair??? sad to say, she did alot of "compromising" for her DH & family (all the time-them 1st, her and her family 2nd) but guess what--he left her after about 5 mnths of marriage so now she feels STUPID!!!!!
Well Plat since you mentioned it, my son is your ringbearer! LOL!
Why doesn't anyone volunteer to be the financer?!
WHAT??? He left her after 5 months. Ain't no way in he!! I would take my daughters out of the wedding. What was she thinking?

I agree with this-everybody wants to have a say-so in what goes on in YOUR wedding, but NOONE wants to "put something on it" (in the famous words of Cedric the Entertainer) LOL

That's too much like right the thing to do. Everyone wants to be the boss but nobody wants to open their wallet. That's why I really wanted to keep my wedding planning business to myself.

glad someone else asked you to clarify this.. :) didn't want to sound stupid and have Turiya call me BIG head like she did my friend! LOL
Everyone in FH's family wants to be in it but I don't see anyone trying to help with catering, booking hotels, etc. Also, I have alot people that want to volunteer someone else's services. "Why don't you ask Aunt Mabel to make your bridesmaid dresses? Such and such can do all the cooking. Why do you want that on the menu? Uncle such and such can set up the grill but you know you gotta pay him."... This is some the reasons why I was seriously considering to elope.

Well my older sister told me to pick out some old funky looking MOB dress and wear it as a wedding dress. My mother wants me to have my younger sister and her kids in the wedding (none of which mix well with me, my older sister, or our kids-long story).
I have a friend that doesn't want her daughter in the wedding; but wants her to be included in my "offical bridal party portraits". Oh better yet "are you sure he doesn't want to be just friends and you want something more" friend wants to be a BM. I am at 7 BM and getting ready to trim the herd.

For real?? the nerve of some people! why would she want her daughter in the pics???
Wow, Tewright. We may be marrying into the same family. LOL! Question, how would someone have the audacity to not want their children to participate in the wedding but include them in the BP portrait?

Pure and simple vanity.

Well see what had happend is dat me my husband are plannin on movin; but we don't know where or exactly when, so we may not be able to make it; but she would have made the cutest FG. You should put her in when you take your party pictures afterwards. That would be so cute.

well my suggestion would be for her to dress her up (as a cute flower girl) and take her to get some pics made-enought said!
Lol! Girl, I have no words.Lol.

With you on that Soon2bmsj... Got a friend who's hit the treadmill to get in shape for her MOH's dress (LOL) - The thing is I haven't even asked her to become my MOH or even a BM... While I love her to bits I'm planning on just having my cousins for my bridal party as I don't want to explain why I've asked one friend and not the other to become a BM or MOH (too many issues)

I can't believe the nerve of these people! I can understand though how it can be hard to decide who to include in the wedding party. I'm already on 6 BM's plus MOH, so may need to start cutting down!
At the end of the day, unless these people want to put their hands in their pockets and help for your wedding, you decide who you want in the wedding party and stick to it!!
