Hi everyone! I'm new to the board too. This is really helpful. We're planning to wed in April 05 in my hometown which is 8+ hours away, largely because my mom and her friends are so excited about planning the event. Is anyone else in a similar situation, adn if so, have you thought about how you will transport everything back (e.g. gifts, attire, etc.)? Also, does anyone have good but affordable ideas for favors and bridesmaid gifts?
Hi everyone I am new to the site and we just pick out wedding day for July 7, 2006. And I don't know where to begin. could any one offer me any advice as to how to get started.
I have a dilemma. My wedding is on July 2nd 2005. I am so excited; that's all I talk about. My matron of honor gives me the impression that she does not want to keep hearing about my wedding plans. My fiance seems iritated w/ me, too. This weekend I want to look at dresses & I am skeptical about asking them to help. Should I go by myself?
I had the same situation when I start planning my wedding a year before the date, your MOH probably don't mean it in a bad way, most people don't beleive in early planning until it happen to them. Just ask them, let them know you need to start looking your dress. my wedding is on January 22, 2005 and I start looking for a dress a year before, and bought my dress on May, and I am glad I did it, because most places take 5-6month to order your dress. and about your FI don't take it personal I think most men are that way when it comes to planning a wedding.
Well, my MOH was stressing me out so bad that I decided to confront her about it. She apologized and told me she will be the moral support i need. And when it comes to her personal opinion on things she will wait until asked. Also, my fiance suggested that we should designate 1 hour to talk about the wedding instead of me wanting to talk for 6+ hours about it. :) Communication-- it's a great way to reduce stress.
:) I think he is right, you are lucky you are getting 1 hour I barely get 10min. I agree in what you said communication is a good think when you want to reduce your stress.
Hello ladies, I'm new to the board also and I need your help. The wedding is 8/5/05. That's a Friday and my birthday. My mom and fiance think it should be on the 6th Saturday. My MOH thinks it should be the Saturday before (July something) because the 6th is her birthday. They all say Friday is a bad day because of people having to worh or take off from work. Is it too much to ask having a wedding on a Friday? I have picked my dress and my BM's dresses. I'm having trouble deciding on the colors. My color is blush. My BM's are all med. brown complexion. I just want a color(s) that compliment their skin tone. The ceremony is going to be informal, preferably the same location as reception. Any ideas on ceremony/reception sites would be a huge help.
Hey L_evet I am also thinking of having my ceremony and reception at the same site because my husband is muslim and i am christian. the idea that i had was to have my guest seated at their tables during the ceremony and then while we are taking photos they will be served hors d'oeuvres. after we return we will continue with the normal reception

Has anyone had an outdoor wedding? My fiance and I are thinking of having ours outdoors July 2006. It will be at sunset so the temp will be a little less intense. I'm wondering what people's experience with out door weddings has been..pros and cons..It's going to be in a park in Savannah Georgia..
Any advice would be great! Thanks!!
