Ok so I was reading the wedding dresses post and I began to wonder.... How early do you order your wedding dress? how about bridesmaids dresses? How early did or will you guys order your dresses for everybody? My wedding is about a year away and I am almost set on what I want for the entire wedding. I plan to start a new diet and my dress size will changes by 1 or 2 sizes (not that I have that much weight to loose,I will be happy with 10-15 pounds) I dont want to keep having it altered because of the cost. I plan on loosing my "baby fat" literally, I was pregnant twice last year and only kept my belly, it still looks like I'm at least 4 months pregnant, so I must work on that. I didnt really gain that much weight but the fact that I had two pregnancies and I only weighed 115 before and 135 now is killing me. I know just about every woman hates her stomach but mines is wierd. I didnt get stretch marks but it did get huge in the 3 and 5 months I was pregnant and now it just stayed that way, like the baby is still in there. I eat "like a bird" says my FH and I walk for about an hour daily so I know thats not why I still have the weight.

Good Question AllieS! I haven't ordered anything yet and my wedding is 11/11/06. I have let our very on Phenomonique know that I will be there in two weeks. I can't wait!

Girls! Order your dress as soon as possible. It Usually takes 12 weeks to get a custom dress and lord knows something may be wrong with it and you have to send it back! Also I know you don't want to hear this but get it slightly bigger than your size. Stress will more often make you gain weight than lose any right before your wedding. You can always have it taken in by a seamstress two weeks before. and it is much easier to take in than it is to let it out. THey only give an inch of let out room anyway.

My wedding is December 2nd of this year and I purchased my dress (from Phenomonique, of course!) in January! She got it for me---fast! It was indeed a pleasure doing business with her. I found a reputable seaamstress to hem (shorten) my gown once I finalize my shoe choice. She said she can do it in two weeks (but you know i'm taking it to her like 3 months prior!) As Rosetta suggested, I got my gown a size bigger. (I lost the weight after the dress was ordered, but December is a long ways away) My dress also has the corset back, so adjustments (Bust, waist, & hips) aren't mandatory. So as of right now, my dress is hanging on my wall in its garment bag. I only look at it twice a week :-) Either way, it's one less thing to worry about.
I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.
Delight yourself also in the Lord & He shall give you all the desires of your heart.-Psalm 37:4
OK thanks ladies. As you all saw in the wedding dresses post I already picked out my dress I am just waiting to buy it. I get excited everytime I see a picture of my dress. I think I will have you start checking boutiques to see how much it cost. I found a "dess shop" on Ebay that will custom make the dress I want but I dont know how I should feel about that. They make replica dresses of the known designers, but if I can find the actual designer dress at a very good price then I will go with them. It time to do some shopping!
I think it is worth the ebay try. Those dresses are a little over $100 shipping included. If you want to pass your dress down to your daughter then don't get an ebay dress. You can't be sure of the quality. I have not purchased any of those dresses myself so I can't testify as to the quality. But I buy pagent dresses from Hong Kong for my daughter and they are fine.

[quote="alvinslove"]Here is a dress I fell in love with...I first say it on EBAY but after hours of searching through different designers I found who actuall makes it and there is a bridal shop less than 10 miles from me that carries this exace same dress.....Just a note the dress will be the same color...my colors are red and white....
Lets see if I do this right....

What are you doing, do you really want someone to experiment with this gown!!!!
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
I've read the ebay customer responses from the seller of this dress and they are al great with the exception of 1 person. Everyone seems to love the dresses they get from them and they will make it to fit your exact measurements if you supply them. I am really hung over this. I contacted Nique and she found it for $699 plus shipping. The ebay dress is $188 plus $75 shipping. The actual Mori Lee dress (style3600) is $300 more than I agreed to pay with FH when we were doing our budget, because I have so much other things to buy to go along with the dress I had to cut the cost of the dress. I originally was looking at a $1000 dress but with a $3000 budget that was impossible. So in order to get everything else I wanted I was willing to find a different dress.

Look at this big difference and really think about it!....There is a saying "you get what you pay for"...and that thing about people swearing by ebay dresses.....please!...who's to say those aren't people working there that wrote the testimonials.
Do not get me wrong, it is your dress and your wedding I can not tell you who and where to buy from...just think before you jump......and jump into HOT water that is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charley I hear what your saying....my mom is not too happy about me buying on ebay either. She's been hinting around that she would buy my dress but I havent told her how much it cost yet.........and really I know she'd not in a position to do so right now. I dont know.I will have to do alot of praying over this.I just may have to take a few things out of the reception that i want.........pray for me and with me.............I need it
Just make sure you investigate the company you decide to use for that gown. If the are authorized stockist, they'll probably do an adaptation of the gown, but not that exact gown.

Sweety I want you to know that I will definitely be praying for and with you on this one. The last thing I want is for you to look hook up on your wedding day.
Is it not feasible to have a back yard party for your reception, this way family members can help and you can focus more on your dress and other things you want?

The detailing on the dress is absolutely beautiful. I didn't see it on the first post, but Allie the dress is very nice.
Much too nice for counterfeit to jack up.

I was originally planning to do a backyard reception and weddind but decided against it because my BIL is a wedding fighter and I didnt want the drama. He starts fights at weddings and since we would be using his house I know problems would arise. He got way too nosey about my wedding plans like I was gonna mess up his house/yard or sometihng. I know he has to know if I doing any changes to the house but his wife should tell him since I talked to her about it, she's my MOH and its her house too. Me and FH just didnt feel comfortable with their house nomore.
So is he the only person you know that has a house....seriously!
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
Honestly yes He is the only person who has a house big enough for a wedding. He has a three bedroom house with a HUGE backyard. Evereybody else live in apartments or are renting houses but they are so small. My mom has a house but the yard ain't big enough. His sister has a two story house but her yard cant fit more than 10 people in it without you getting clostophobic (spelling)and thats outside! and the inside is not wedding material.

What about a park? I mean if you want an outdoor wedding/reception do it at a park/pavillion. CA has tons of them.
Love the ring Charley!
Living my life like it's GOLDEN!!
I would love to have my wedding in a park but I know you have to get a permit and I dont know how to go about doing all of that.....If anyone knows please help me. There are at least 5 parks whithin 5 miles of me. I search the internet for information but I come up eith nothing.
AllieS.....please girl!...you have got to be kidding me right...get on the phone and call until someone knows...try your local congressman's office or government ministries...somebody should know. Be proactive...I mean isn't it worth all the headache trying to find out just to avoid that crazy man and his drama?
By the way...read my signature below and apply it to your life

I haven't ordered my gown yet but I talked to the supplier. They asked for my measurements(which I gave),then suggested that I order a size 12 gown.I'm leary about that because I'm still trying to gain atleast 15 more pounds.
Born Blessed!
YES Charley it is worth the headache. I've been making calls and doing more research and I'm getting close to the info I need. I talked to a lady who works for public pars and she gave me a number to her office so I can talk to someone there about my wedding. I was told but I have to clarify first that depending on the number of people (more than 50) I will or will not need a permit. And I can rent the park hall or a few park rest areas for my reception. I've really been on my toes because I dont wana have to deal with BIL and his bullcrap. FH and I have really been trying to narrow our options down and really figure out what we do and don want to do.Since he's getting more involved it will easy some of the stress off of me.
That's what I'm talking about!
Very proud of you......Trust me It'll be all worth it.
