Invitation Wording (title or not)

Should titles be used on invitations or not? I have seen invitations printed with and without titles. Specifically, if the bride or groom is an atty., dr., judge, etc. If titles are to be used, are they spelled out or abbreviated? Thanks for any help on this.

I would think spelled out - nothing abbreviated.

It really is totally up to you, but they are not necessary. I know that if your parents or his parents or both of your parents together are hosting, then you can ask them if they like, because it is proper to put their titles. Atty is not usually included, but Esq is. You can do an internet search on this for invitations. It depends on the amount of space too....If it will take up too much space to spell it out, or if it doesn't make the invite look good, make sure you get the proper abbreviations for the titles....Abbreviations are proper, as long as they are correct!
Good Luck

my invites will say: Here Ye, Here Ye, Princess Tiye to wed Ogre Lee in ceremony at private malibu estate... hee hee, only kidding. i agree spell everything out, particularly if your affair is a formal one.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way. ~ Pablo Neruda

Future, You should say "Queen Tiye", since she really was an Egyptian Queen...you know the Egyptian Pharoah Amenhotep IV (Akenaton)'s mother?
