Invitations & Colour Scheme

Hello everyone,

I am new to vidride and boy do I wish i found your site earlier. My wedding is scheduled for 7/27/08 and the stress is increasing as i cannot decide on a colour scheme.

Currently, I am thinking of burnt orange for the BMs,Gold for the MOH and accessorized with sage green and splashes of yellow.

I like the trend of pocket invites but am worried that if I incorporate too much orange in the scheme it will come off as a fall theme.

I live in Jamaica but the wedding will be in a Hotel ballroom in the evening...so I want to create a vibrant and romantic atmosphere without going overboard.

Please give me your feedback on the colours and appropriate invites.

Thanks a million!

Hi Letty, welcome! We're happy to have you. I started with a similar color scheme and my suggestions would be to add very small and spare highlights of purple or fuschia to bring back the tropics and move away from fall.

WELCOME!!!

I think the colors you chose are treat.
You can always add little hints of other colors to make things really "pop" out

Have you found any pictures online of your colors being used?

Welcome Letty. My colors were similar, burnt orange, sage and ivory. To keep it from looking like a fall theme, I tried to create a garden like feel to everything by using lots of hanging ivy, grape leaves, etc. I have a few pics posted under the wedding photo forum that might help you to visulize your colors together.

Welcome Letty.

I agree, having other colors like pinks (Fuschia, magenta, rose), grape colors, corals and peaches in the flowers-bouquets, boutainnaires, and wherever you hang flowers will deter from a "fall scheme".

Flower TYPES make a difference so take advantage of the flowers in season in Jamaica at that time...chose different color calla lillies, and/or roses. Gererbra(sp?) Daisies come in NUMEROUS colors-and that type of daisy is a SUMMER flower!

OR DIfferent color shades of yellows: butter, yellow, deep or bright yellows, pastel yellow mix gives a summer, feel too.

Re: Invitations & Colour Scheme

Thanks a million for your suggestions...I am still in a maze though

I am considering changing the BMs to Burnt Orange and Champagne dresses as I think the Sage green is not a bood blend. The ballroom has a very dull colour scheme navy & gold carpeting with beige walls) so I need to jazz it up somewhat..do u think my original gold, sage and burnt orange could work.Help I am drowning in this color decision.

Can u guys recommend sites or send me pics to get elegant and affordable Burnt Orange and Champagne coloured dresss (Under US$150)

Also, do guys have any pocket invitation pics with the colours above.

Looking forward to your advice!

Letty,

Try this site http://www.jordanfashions.com/collections_details.asp?nCatID=1

My colors are chocolate and burnt orange and I found my girls dresses here. You can play around with the colors as well and see which dress compliments the color the best.

My girls dresses are chocolate and their bouqet will be burnt orange.

Striving for better than my Best!!!

Hi Guys...

I need to get your expert opinions on the three invitations below.
They are quite pricey but I am absolutely impressed with the quality.
Do u think I can use any of these gold themed invites and customize with the ink of my choice or probably change the ribbon colors?

I love your choice of color. If you're planning to DIY your invitations and should you choose the pocketfold invite, perhaps you would consider doing the pocketfold in Sage with Gold ribbon to secure it. The ladies were right in adding flowers like Fuschia, magenta, lavender, to the mix. It will be lovely!!!

I love your color choices and they are perfect for an island wedding. I know your date has passed, but these may help someone else out.
