Joanne/Something Set Apart

Well sistahs I really felt bad about not welcoming Joanne into the sistahood so I called her to apologize. She was at her bridal shower, but she still took my call. She seemed very nice, and easy to talk to. I finally saw her website and it is very informative. If you have Mozilla the page opens up a jumbled mess, but check it out on Explorer and it's fine. I hope she returns.

This person must've been here for one day only. I don't know who y'all are talking about. Anyway, that was nice of you Niquey. You have to have 1000 to meet queen status? I will never get there. lol

Re: Joanne/Something Set Apart

Thanks Phenomonique for posting that. My wedding is over so I am back to normal. Once I recieve the professional photos, I will be sure to share. My colors were copper, bronze, gold, and ivory. All guest were awakened to a personal phone call on behalf of myself and my husband at 10am letting all our guests know how happy were to be sharing this day with them. We wanted a very unique favor so we worked with a company to create our own signature fragrance (Covenant for Men and Women)that was attached to each guests escort card. Inside the escort card was another personal message from both of us along with their table number. It was held at the Botanical Gardens on St. Croix, USVI. My only complaint was that it is too hot to have a wedding in the caribbean...I guess by body isn't used to it anymore (I'm from there). I didn't even want my husband to lift up my veil when it was time to kiss the bride because I knew I looked like Whitney Houston under there. LOL. We honeymooned on a Southern Caribbean Cruise which was soo much fun. Again, I will keep everyone posted.

FYI, if you are from St. Croix and are considering Botanical Gardens as your reception location, please note that you cannot decorate after business hours (9a-5p) which is a big inconvenience. Other than that, the location is beautiful.

Hi Joanne!
Those colors sound beautiful! We can't wait to see the photos, I can only imagine how hot is was there. I'm doing an outdoor wedding next month. I have to say the only thing that's been on my mind about the day is the heat.
Was you reception outdoors?

The ceremony was held in a church...no swapping bugs as I say my vows! The reception was at a botanical garden but it was held in an old Danish Great Hall. Our pictures were taken in the garden. I am doing an outdoor wedding here in Atlanta as well next month. We are getting very creative with it. I think we have the best jobs!

JOANNE, the custom fragrance sounds excellent and i really love the personal touch of the guests getting a phone call the morning of the wedding, that is so very classy.

Hi Joanne and congratulations on your recent wedding! I love your colors and your creativity. Developing your own signature fragrance for your guests was a wonderful idea! I'm sure that they will remember that for a long time to come. Welcome back to the sistahood and I am looking forward to seeing those pictures!

Thank you all for the nice comments. I really had a wonderful time planning my wedding. If I can give one piece of advice it would be to start planning the day he places the engagement ring on your finger. I can't tell you how many deals and bargains I came across because I was not pressed for time. Also, if you are getting married next spring or summer, now is the time to purchase aisle runners, unity candles etc since the peak wedding season is over....they are dog cheap.

Joanne, you're website is amazing! I just kept clicking each link and saying to myself, "I want that". is that what 'something set apart' would provide or did you do that one especially for you and your hubby? This would be perfect for me and my FH bcuz he lives on the continent and most of his friends and family will not be able to attend the US ceremony.

I have a lot of family on other caribbean islands so it was worth it for me to have a wedding website. It began as a wedding website plus it has online wedding planning tools ( online RSVP etc.). After the wedding, we turned it into our Wedding Photo Album. Once we have children, it will be turned into a baby website.
