Matron of Honor

Does the matron of honor have to walk in w/ her husband or can it be someone else? Please advise.

Re: Matron of Honor

Hi Nikki and welcome to Black Bride Chat! Are you thinking that the mother of the bride is the matron of honor or a married maid of honor(this is what the title usually refers to)? If you are thinking the latter, then, as with so many bridal traditions, the rules have relaxed a bit and you can certainly choose to have both your maid of honor or matron of honor walk alone, or with the traditional usher at the ceremony.

Bold Text Well, I am having a maid of honor & a matron of honor. My fiance's best man is walking with the maid of honor during the recessional and who walks with the matron of honor.

Please advise.

Re: Matron of Honor

I recently attended a wedding where the Maid of Honor walked with the best man. The Matron of Honor walked alone. It looked fine. I guess it comes down to what you want. Be creative. You could reverse it or have the best man escort both ladies. That would be cute as well.

Good Luck!

That sounds like a great idea. But, my fiance insist that the MOH walks down w/ the groomsmen. I think have the bestman escort both would be good.

You had the right idea,j9, to have the best man walk them both down the aisle. it will make your hubby happy to be sure! you could have your ringbearer take her hand and escort her off as well.

I was supposed to have two myself. AA had a big strike and my best friend could not make it! So I was really glad I had two. No one noticed a thing. LOL
