Michelle made me first take real notice of her when Tavis Smiley came out of face when Barack turned down appearing as a panelist on the State of the Black Union offering to send Michelle instead. I listened to her on the radio talking about the situation and the position Barack was in a the time and I loved the way she was able to express herself. She sounded so down to earth, like someone I could sit down and do lunch with. I am sooo pround to call her our First Lady.
"I'm a work in progress, God is not through me yet"
At least we know our first lady is not an uneducated woman, because that would just be something else for people to pick at.
Michelle has got it going on in every way. That's why Barack chose her. Her intelligence and and taste made her choose him.
The country is BLESSED beyond measure to have them both. It's been loooong time coming.
Cheers to the New President and his First Lady! God bless them, their families, and this country. This is a BEAUTIFUL thing. I'm so HAPPY!

I'm so proud of them both! I stayed up all night (results came out over here in London at 5am!!) to watch this great man win the presidency. I can't wait for Barack to show the American people what he is made of, nd we're hoping that he will have some effect over here too!
Michelle is exactly the sort of First Lady we need - she is smart, sophisticated, has a sense of humour and clearly loves and supports her husband and her family. How can they fault the Obama family??!!!
I cannot wait until January when he finally starts the presidency!
Rhony don't be calling out her school's and not mentioned her #1 in the nation (at the time) high school WHITNEY M. YOUNG MAGNET HIGH SCHOOL! Yep, I'm an alum also! LOL! She was class of 81 (I think) and I was class of 94.
She is a true class act. She is so grounded and real. A 100% Chi-Town sista!

[/quote] OK I just love her. But I really wasn't feelin' that dress. Looked like an Hour glass in front a bit (time's running out???? yikes!). Very 1987.
Her Daughter's Bubble dress not so hot either. But who cares? She is the FIRST BLACK First Lady and I could not be prouder of her. They are such a strong couple. Don't forget to add the President Elect and his First lady to our prayers. There will be a lot they will have to go through before the 4 years are up!

I agree FutureMrsKeepup and the hoops in her ears -- classic!

Yup. This red is done right. Classic, but still black girl with the hoops. I like her gear usually. But there is always too much of something or the other on her. She hangs her shades off her neck some times. But when she gets her stylist that will all change. I wonder what the red symbolizes? She wears it a lot.

Red is power, Rosie! I know I love me some red. Everyone has their power color.
I like the second dress too, but I would prefer a scoop neck or a v-neck for a more youthful look.
