I want to do the same Platinum. I guess I will call the papers and find out what the procedure is and what the fee is if there is one. If anyone has already done this, please let us know.

I haven't done it. I think its free in small/rural towns, but in metro areas, they're charging! I was thinking about having my wedding announced until I did the research. Our local newspapers say the prices start at $50 & there's no guarantee that it'll appear when we want it to. (Like the weekend of/after the wedding)
I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.

We put an engagement announcement in the Bham newspaper. I'm not sure how much the announcement cost by itself because my FH also purchased 10 laminated copies of the announcement at the same time. They charge by the line though, and the newspaper has control of how it's formatted. Cinamin1 wrote that in the newspaper there, you're not sure of when it will appear. Now that's just ridiculous! But anyway, in our paper they publish the submission deadlines and publish dates so you already know.

Girl, that's what they told me over the phone & I believe it. I just saw one couple's announcement in the paper & they got married back in early March!

on the enclosed forms, and the Times will write
the announcement for you. I am SO mad about it, my local paper (Press Enterprise) will do it for free.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way. ~ Pablo Neruda
Thanks for the info Ms Lee...my local newspaper is Pressenterprise too and I'm glad to hear that it is fre.BUT most of the people I know live in Los Angeles so they would have to see my post in the L.A Times....thats IF we decide to pay for it.Knowing FH thats a BIG FAT NO!LOL

Aint that funny tho..."low price" is like $30 or less to me. And if FH know's that the Press Enterprise if FREE he's really not going to pay $80 plus $75 for a picture.....He'll probably say why we have to post it anywqays?
Allie, let me tell you how fortunate you are to have such a fiscally conservative man. Mine is wasteful! WASTEFUL! Before we get married we will HAVE to see a financial planner/consultant or take classes for both of us to become financial planners/consultants because his attitude is "its just money". Like when our (my) dog got an eye infection and the doctor charged us 100 bucks just to look at her I was like "OH HELL NAH!" and he was like, "heres my visa". I'm a saver, he's a spender I wonder how this will all play out. I'm trying make my million in the next 10 years and he is over here just throwing money away. *kick* stupid FH

Now he's driving buses for COACH USA and everything is alright.
I'm a saver too. FH says that I always spend his money first then when its gone we spend mine. I never notice that but maybe its true. Its back up is what I tell him...lol. My dad gave me $20 one day and I saved the same $20 for over a year. Me couldnt understand how but I just did.Pleople give me their money to save like I'm a bank.
