I think this poem will rock in a scroll or in a wedding program. It is so romantic. You can feel the love...
Although I Conquer All The Earth
Athough I conquer all the earth,
Yet for me there is only one city.
In that city there is for me only one house;
And in that house, one room only;
And in that room, a bed.
And one woman sleeps there,
The shining joy and jewel of all my kingdom.

I thought this one was nice - I like it!
If I were to put to words, how you make me feel.
If I were to describe, how your smile is such a thrill.
If I had to own up, and confess my love is real.
Yes I do, and yes I will.
There's not a single word, that can hold it all in true.
Something that describes, how I feel when I'm with you.
Being with you forever, hoping to find a word or two.
Yes I will, and yes I do.
To build a heart, filled with strength, will get emotional.
To let my love grow for you, unconditional.
I will love, honor and cherish you, even after my life is through.
Yes I will, and yes I do.
I know I'll find a word, maybe during our pillow talk.
Our conversation is easy, like a Sunday morning walk.
Sharing my life, my love, until time is still.
Yes I do, yes I will.

I went to a wedding several years ago and right before bride entered the church - she was still in limo - There was a recorded message that came over the PA system just for her husband-to-be...I thought it was so nice but somethings that were said in the message kinda took me back. She talked about being in his orgasmic juices (yuck - too deep) I do not really care about a couple's sexual life and I thought it was in very poor taste but the recording itself was nice and I've not heard of one since. Anywho the purpose of this message is: Do you think this is maybe a place where you can slip in that poem just for him?
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Now her daddy knows she is a freak! Lord was she a MEMBER of that church? Mercy. lol
I do think that would be an awesome time to have a poem recited, just before you walk down the aisle to your hubby. Or even as you are walking down the aisle.

Rosey after I heard that part of the message I had the same reaction - what her parents may have been thinking especially how she was standing at the door with her father....ewwwww is an understatement in that situation. I like the way you think---the bridal entrance being a peom hmmmmmm I N T E R E S T I N G!!! If I may say so myself.
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
I think sistah gyrl did a little too much adding personal stuf like that.Nobody wants to know how and if she slips in his juices and in the church! Lord Jesus help her! She was doing 4 much on that one. But I think a poem down the aisle or before you go down the aisle is a very romantic thing.I was looking for something different to do maybe I will do this.Me anad FH would email each other poems at least once a week when we first started dating 2 years ago.Now that we live together he'll sometimes place them on my nightstand and I'll tape one to the bathroom mirror for him to read while he dresses in the morning. I love to write poetry but its hard for me to share with others because I totally open myself up when I write.
I like the emailed poems alvinslove! Charley... she was on her daddy's arm??? Some people don't think things through. lol Here are some SHORT poems for the program or as a bride introduction:
We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love's light
we dare be brave
And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free.
Ogden Nash (1902-1971)
There the sweet forbidden flower.
Darling, when I look at you
Every aged phrase is new,
And there are moments when it seems
I've married one of Shakespeare's dreams.
The Colour of My Love (excerpt)
David Foster and Arthur Janov
I'll paint a sun to warm your heart
Knowing that we'll never part.
And with this ring our lives will start, Let nothing keep our love apart.
I'll take your hand to hold in mine,
And be together through all time.
From This Day Forward
Author Unknown
From this day forward,
You shall not walk alone.
My heart will be your shelter,
And my arms will be your home.
These I Can Promise (excerpt)
Author Unknown
I can promise all my heart's devotion;
A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;
A love that's ever true and ever growing;
A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.
Yes, I'll Marry You

Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
These are all so wonderful. I actually write poems and short pieces of prose for weddings. I think it is very special to have something so personal and touching. I agree with the one poster about how some things need to left out a poem but overall, they are a great hit. The audience has always liked them(so far...praise God) and the couples I wrote for now look back at there poem and relive their day all over again.
Those words I wrote from the spirit will live forever.
Also, I am loving this site. The 1st of it's kind for me.
Girlnoire, welcome to the site! Yes this is a one of a kind site and it has been such a blessing to the ladies here. I love these poems. I will be getting married in 11/06 and I still haven't decided on which poem to have read. I still have some time though, but I think I will decide soon so that is one less thing I have to worry about.
Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37
This poem is actually part of a prayer. The couple wanted a poem that was more in line with a Psalm or a Proverb. So after doing research in KJV I came up with this. Keeping in mind this one is specifically written for a couple.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way. ~ Pablo Neruda

Born Blessed!
Hey ms platinumstyle... I found the complete poem on another website: http://www.timbooktu.com/mskenesh/wedding.htm
Our Wedding Day
the law of the Lord is perfect
and we bask in that knowledge
paying daily homage to Your ways
our hearts are filled with joy
our lips sing shouts of Your wonder
our minds develop peace
resting in You O Lord
we speak verses of commitment
honor
strength
longevity
praying that words from our lips
and the thoughts of our heart
be pleasing unto You
on this our wedding day
we make a covenant
to trust in your word and do good
to take delight in your law
to commit everything we do to You
and know that to be still
is to know we are in Your presence
we come singing praises
as we unite our lives
knowing all good things
come from You
and also knowing
that only You are honored on this day
receiving all the glory
for bringing two of your flock together
on this our wedding day
we arise O Lord
as You would have us to do
she, a forthright woman of God
he, a forthright man of God
cleaving to each other and Your word
believing in your design for our union
Lord, You guarded our hearts
showing us where to start
knowing that there are difficult parts
even on our best day we know not what to say
we simply allow the Holy Spirit to guide us
he prays to you as an humble man
with a humble heart and stance
she prays to you as a strong woman
with a strong heart and dance
although the earth shakes and trembles
You have allowed our feet to touch solid ground
and so we come to you O Lord, to keep us safe
and to keep our marriage fresh and exciting
you are our refuge
please send out your light and your truth
on this our wedding day
we once more sing praises
and shout hallelujah
for You have done an awesome thing here
sing unto the Lord we say
because His word has gone out
on this our wedding day
