I know there are two places in our ceremony where we kneel down to pray. I hadn't thought of having a bench until I saw it in another Vibride's pictures. Can't remember who though. I think it makes for a great picture and am pretty sure its more comfortable than "knees to the floor!"
yes mskeepup-that is what I am talking about! :) we are going to light the unity candle and then kneel down-the song we are going to have playing while lighting the candle is I Trust God by Johnny Sanders. the song is beautiful, very spiritual and uplifting so and I wanted the entire song to play--so instead of just standing after lighting the candle I thought we could kneel
I was thinking about playing "I Need You Now" (softly in the background) during our prayer. Another possible selection would be "Lord" by Trin-it-tee57.
The church where you're celebrating your wedding should have the kneeling benches, if not, try your local party supply rental places that caters to weddings, they usually have them as well.
Usually, the benches are used to pray, during the blessing of your union. It is a whole lot comfortable than the floor and looks a lot more sophisticated.
Great idea. Thank you Ginoue. Wich song do you think I should use for this. I just listened to both and I can't make up my mind. Decisions, decisions...
We also used those because we took communion at our wedding, and we had The Lord's Prayer playing. You can get them in silver or brass. We rented them, and the benches alone were like 20.00 bucks for the weekend, but we rented a few things from the rental company. Anyways, you can also sit them side by side so it looks like one long bench if you don't want to swing around the side if your dress is big. I decided to do it side by side at my wedding, however, facing each other is just as nice which is what my brother did....

I had a prayer bench at my wedding, it worked out nice and was pretty, I also had a unity candle.
That's a great idea. My brother had one at his wedding but he borrowed it from his church. Where can I find one of those?

Oh, definitely "Lord" by Trin-It-Tee57
Thank you, Ginoue. You're right. I think "Lord" would be more suitable for this portion of the ceremony.

You're more than welcome platinum
