Purchasing a gown ....

Well, this will show my naivety!
When purchasing a gown in a bridal shop, and assuming it's been tried on a few times, is the shop responsible for dry-cleaning the dress before you take it home? It's in great condition, but I was just wondering what the general practice is....
Thank you for any help you can provide! ;-)

Re: Purchasing a gown ....

You will be expected to pay the full price of the gown. All gowns that are in a shop are worn by those trying them on and it just comes with the territory. Most such gowns are floor models. If you choose that gown, the shop will order one for you in your size directly from the manufacturer. When that particular gown is discontinued, then it goes onto the shop's sale rack and is marked down to reflect the fact that it has been worn. You might be able to negotiate on this price, but not on the price of a new gown.

Some salons will dry clean the dress for you before you take it home. I think that is wonderful just incase there is shrinking or pearls come off,m it can be handled by a professional.
