As you all know FH graduated from college and is looking for employment. He found a job on monster that isn't what he went to school for. But he is looking at it for something to add to his resume and expierence.
FH can be terrible naive and when I asked him how his first interview went he told me that interviewer fast-talked him about the job. He didn't really even remember a lot of what the job entailed except for he'd "make a lot of money one on one helping other companies."
Alarms sounded in my head. I listen to sales people ALL DAY LONG. I know a pitch when I hear one. I told him it's a sales job, this doesn't sound good. etc. He didn't listen.
He gets a call for his second interview. He was picked out of 8 other people (that were there with him) for the job. In that interview he finds out he has no benefits and they told him some garbage about "You'll be making so much money you won't need health insurance" BULLLCRAP!!!!! Before I worked in compliance I worked for a major hospital's billing department. You'd be surprised how much just going to the ER and having nothing done will cost alone!
He told me they spent the day getting driven around to different buisnesses basically selling liabilty insurances to buisness that don't have it. Going from one buisness to another...Door to door selling!!!They told him that 70% of major buisnesses don't have this. That also is a load of crap! If these major businesses don't have insurance why would they buy it off a salesman!
I told FH all this but they have him brainwashed!!! I don't know what to do. We spent most of the night talking about it. After I told him they tricked him into this job and he was fooled. His feelings got hurt.
The company also has them selling spa packages and sports packages...WHY? and what does that have to do with insurance?!!! I must have expressed my distress about this job at least seven times before his feeling were hurt. Honestly i was frustrated. All he see's is the dollar signs! But the interviewer(salesman) prey upon college kids who are scraping for change..
..Fh asked me in this pitiful voice if I want him to quit. I told him to get his expierence but to keep looking for other jobs. But his job is completely across town from where he lives! He has to get up at 3 in the morning to be there at 7 and doesn't get off until six so he won't be home until 10.00 because of the bus! He won't be able to search for jobs with that time frame and no computer at home.
THEN I was surfing the net and couldn't find anything about this company. No blurbs in the paper, nothing on the internet...zip. Weird right? So after doing some research I found that this company is one of many sister company's under a huge corp, that just happens to be on TheRipOffreport.com!!!!! I site is down so I couldn't read the report but I know this is not good.....
So...currently I'm sending him jobs that I saw on monster and what not but this to me is devestating....We're trying to start a new life he's excited about a job that is going nowhere!
What can I do? What can I say to make him see this is not good? My mother told me to just let him find out what this job is really like and he'll quit on his own...I hope so. Maybe he'll get so worn out and tired of this he'll quit. Is it bad to pray for him to quit?
.....
I'm sorry this is so long...It's just our wedding is so close....

don't pray for him to quit, pray that God opens his eyes or that God presents him with a much better opportunity. this is a hard and sticky situation because on one hand I know you want what is best or him, but on the other hand, if he is not trying to really hear what you are saying it is just going to cause issues with you guys and he may start resenting you for "trying to tell him what to do". good luck with this one sweetie!!!!!!!! :(
Abeni, just pray on it...Pray his eyes and his heart is open, and that he is protected from any pitfalls that may occur. At the very least, the extra money can go into the savings for the wedding, and after a while, like all men, he will come around....just not when you want him to....I went through my DH (who is a Taurus...a stubborn one too) when I was trying to tell him why he needed to get saved 4 years ago. He just did it in 2006. I screamed, hollered, fussed...even cussed, and cried. Then I realized that God is able, and I left him alone. Like I said, men have to learn things on their own, and sooner than you'd beleive he will either like the job, and make it work for you both, or quit....But when he comes to you about quitting, he MAY or MAY NOT say you were right....In any case support him the best way you know how, and keep on moving.....

Child I had a job selling knives before! I made a few dollars but nothing like what they said in the presentation! Some mistakes people have to make for themselves. He's one of God's children so I know it will work out!
I agree with the other ladies. Continue to pray and he will leave that job for something that the Almighty has for him! Be encouraged, I believe your FH is very blessed to have a woman like you on his side to look out for him! God bless you both!
Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37

Girl I interviewed for that job too and they hired me on the spot. I said I would call them back because I had my suspicions, and decided not to sell the knives. My friend took that job, and sold one set. Plus, she had to buy a set for demonstration...

Had to be Cutco! I had to buy the demo set as well for $130! I sold one complete set (the most expensive one) but after that all I sold were certain pieces (carving set, butcher knife, etc). I must admit they are some good knives though!
Yup, thats them! Girl they be all over FSU campus talking about work for 12.75 an hour, trying to get these kids in with them!

See how God works things out! :)
Yes! and it was like after I talked to you all I just had this peace and just knew that FH would be okay. That a job would come from some where and it wouldn't just be any kind of job it would be one with authority...
Sure enough he has an interview to be the graphic consulting executive!!!!!!!!!!! If I wasn't at work I'd be shouting!!!!!
