Re: Suggestions for a compromise???

If you have enough room in your new home have it there, and if you home hasn't been blessed yet that could be taken care of as well. Or, Have your ceremony and wedding at one central location (banquet facility). I went to a wedding and the ceremony was in the same room as the reception; There where round tables the room was divided into two sections to create the isle. The wedding party march in the same way you would in a church, the alter was set up in front of the head table with a bible and a unity candle on it. After the ceremony the alter was removed and the cake table was rolled in. There are many ways to cut cost and compromise.

Re: Suggestions for a compromise???

Traditionally, your parents pay for the entire wedding. He can relax about feeling obligated to them or that he is putting them out if they want to help. It is a blessing. Unfortunately most men don't get the need for ceremony, especially if you are already living together or if they have been dating you a long time. They love you. They KNOW you love them. So who else matters? LOL. You can have a beautiful wedding if you make a list about what you just have to have and what you can live without. Then cutr the list back some more. Have family members who want to help donate a part of your ceremony. Aunt Chichi can donate the flowers for the church alter, Uncle Cedric might give the limo rental. Your family loves you and you will be surprised what they will offer when you sit down with your parents and discuss it. Good Luck. It will be BEAUTIFUL, because you have the love of your life with you. BREATHE.
