Threjoyln it is your wedding do it the way you want. If you don't want to a rehearsal dinner then don't. I was in two weddings and they never had a rehearsal dinner. If you guys have a "get together" with food, music and fun then so be it girl!

I feel yo on tat girl! I dont want a rehersal dinner either. At the rehersal we will do the bulk of the decorating for the event as well as go over everthing that needs to be done at the ceramony. That way we dont have to do much but touch up the day of. I will probably order pizza and stuff and we all hang out at the hotel afterwards, since we wont be having bachelor/ette parties the night before.I will probably be too nervous to eat....
I just don't know what I would do if I would have never found this site

SO after the rehearsal you guys are going to decorate the hall and have refreshments there as you decorate? I think that will be a nice way to close out the rehearsal! Plus, it can help relax little jitters and thats one less thing you have to think about....My coordinator had her parents and her future in laws take care of the rehearsal dinner, so they did all the cooking for it and she didn't have to worry about anything...so they had some games and some home-cooked meals.....Do what you like girl.
I think that would be a nice to have a small gathering while everyone is helping decorate the hall. We are having everything in one spot to save on gas and money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I wouldnt mind having a little food there as we decorate but I dont want anything to get messed up. You know how people can get.All of a sudden there's a stain on the linens or the decorations.. and that would be me ...lol.. So I figure we can have it at the hotel where I could really care less if someone spilled something. Since we will be decorating the hall/kitchen area we cant eat in there either.
The last wedding I was in she tried to have a rehersal dinner but everyone was so tired, mainly me b/c I had just arrived the day of the rehersal and I was ready to go to bed. Everyone had just gotten off work so she pretty much wasted her time we ready to go after everything was over. So I like your idea better get whatever needs to be done, done and then relax in the hotel room. You need to eat that may just be your last meal before the big day........lol
My MIL and my mom will take care of the rehearsal dinner for us. They will make some lasagna and a salad. Simple. We just felt like that's one less expense we need to worry about.

I know someone else who let their parents and in-laws handle that, and she said it worked out great! One less thing to think about..whoever is handleing it, have them just do light refreshments OR if everyone is really starving, you all can get a restauraunt like Olive Garden to cater...They can make you a medium or large dish of lasagna, a large salad, and provide enough breadsticks for as many people as you like...they also do soups too....you definitely want to keep it simple, and light! The prices are usually pretty good...you can call around to check....I mean, you can get good food, and still keep it under like 100.00!
