Rehearsal dinner

We're going to get married at the church that my FH's parents attend so after the rehearsal we will be having dinner there in the fellowship hall. His mother is a professional caterer so she will be doing the dinner.

Since our wedding has a southern theme we are having ours at a restaurant called Mary Mac's. All southern cusine and a very relaxed atmosphere.

Ditto PureBliss, Ours will be at my mother's church and the dinner will be in the dining hall. The kitchen staff will prepare the food.
We'll give them the menu and the money of course. It will be buffet style.

That's great PB&J and Marshine! Tara you are on the ball as well. I still don't know as yet. I'm hoping to have things figured out within the next two weeks.

I was going to have it at our house - but someone told me I will not feel like cleaning up afterwards (which she is right!) So, I will be having it at a restaurant - buffet style. We will have a private room for 2 hours.

I'm like Rony and Askalot,I'm still not sure yet.

We are having ours at a Jazz club/restuarant. My stepmother is paying for the dinner. Everyone will just order from the menu because it worked out cheaper than having a buffet. I am just going to make up our own personalized menu and only include items from the main menu that are the same price. That way my stepmother will know exactly what the cost will be.

I am so embarrassed to say that I didn't even have one at the first wedding...that is so wrong on so many levels but you live and learn from your mistakes.

Hi everyone. I miss talking to you guys on a regular. I will be back on the blower after next week. We are having the rehearsal dinner in one of the conference rooms at the host hotel.

I talked to FH about this yesterday. We are undecided on whether to do something at home or do it at a restaurant. In any event, the discussion has started -- LOL!!!

Yes it is a major accomplishment...

Since it looks like we will have a place for our ceremony, FH and I have talked about having our rehearsal dinner at the same restaurant our reception will be. We will not be in the same banquet room upstairs that we have booked for the reception, but we will be in the regular dining room. It is convenient and walking distance from our ceremony site. Things are starting to shape up. I am so excited!

Did any of you send out invitations for your rehearsal dinner? If so, what did they say?

Tiff, we plan to simply put itineraries into the invites of people invited to the rehearsal dinner so they can know when and where to be at since their role is different. This will be Bidal Party, parents, and grandparents. Of course immediate family but thats it!

I am going to host my rehearsal dinner at a portugues resturant in Newark, and am inviting only the people who are part of the wedding ceremony.
