Re: Rehersal Dinner

We had an informal rehearshal dinner. I invited our parents & the entire wedding party. My idea of a great rehearsal dinner is very simple: everyone having a great time.

Re: Rehersal Dinner

Our rehearsal was in the morning, followed by a very casual rehearsal brunch at the hotel. (Who says it has to be dinner?) We were already having dinner for the reception. This was followed by a short tour of the island for OOT guests. Then, I was free to wrap-up the rest of the details I was doing (decorating the cake then relaxing.)

This worked very well. Only parents and those in the wedding party and their significant others attended the brunch. Other OOT guests were welcome to attend, but none came. A bonus was that the wedding party wasn't out drinking the night before the wedding.

We decided on a backyard BBQ as our rehearsal dinner, but it's just immediate family and our bridal party though.

Re: Rehersal Dinner

I choose a restaurant on the outskirts of Harlem, NY because we had a couple of out of town guest and I wanted them to see some of the city. We invited ou immediate family, wedding party, and out of town family. The food was good and I like to eat so we decided to use one of their gold party menus just to show our appreciation for everyone's role in our day.

We didn't have what you consider a real rehearsal dinner. We had food available downstairs in the church but most of our bridal party had to many other things to do that they basically grabbed a plate and left which was fine with me.

Additionally, we did a Post Wedding Celebration/Father's Day Cook-out at my parent's house the day after our wedding around 2 p.m. (My mother loves to cook and entertain, so she really wanted to do something at the house.) This was a nice way to make it a weekend celebration and send-off OOT guests. DH and I didn't get there on time, though. Ahem.

We were too busy putting together bouquets and centerpieces! Everyone ate before they came or after they left.

hello all,
Yes, I think simple is best----I like the brunch idea. I think I will have the work party to parcel up the candy for the place settings and so on, at a different time. That way the rehearsal will not be such a big thing, if we can get it all done ahead.

Is anyone going to use Jordan Almonds, and how will you present them if so?  Fresh almonds have a bittersweet taste, which represents life. The sugarcoating is added with the hope that the newlyweds' life will be more sweet than bitter.

for all your fave jordan almonds and more....candy

Re:Rehersal Dinner

I almost went crazy behind trying to find a place for the rehearsal dinner.  Most resturants wanted a room fee on top of the food fee.  So I googled nice resturants in Houston and found a little nice Italian place.  They don't have a room fee and thier packages are very reasonable. Only the wedding party and family that is involved in the wedding are invited.  A few of them are married so their spouses will be invited.  That doesn't include girlfriends or dates. I also have two aunts coming from out of town and they will be included as well.  I wanted to treat the wedding party to a nice meal and the videographer agreed to include rehearsal and rehearsal dinner coverage in the contract at no additional charge.  Their are some nice vendors out there, just ask.

Re:Rehearsal Dinner

We are having dinner after the church in the adjacent fellowship hall. We figured, everyone would already be there and it will save costs. We are having the moms prepare our homemaid classics like potato salad and deviled eggs, etc. We are going to get some friend chicken from this place that has great chicken and have a spread with a cake to finish. The bridal party and any out of town guests that want to come will be there.

These three remain; faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love. Cor
