Rehersal Dinner??

Hello Ladies.......

Is it etiquette to "Dress up" for the Rehersal Dinner??

What type of Rehersal Dinner are/did you have??

Personally I just would like to have a laid back, summertime, meet and greet family surrounding.....But my Mother is thinking otherwise...Keep in mind she is very traditional.

Thanks in advance Ladies

Re: Rehersal Dinner??

Hey Sweetp..I would really like to have a small get together, smart-casual, but not too bothered as this is not really in our culture. I WOULD like to have a brunch the day after though, before we go on our honeymoon!!

I dont know if i would do something dress up for the rehearsal- not really my style, I would want something laid back, but nice to get my close family and friends in the mood for the next day, something low key and charming ;) Remember it is what will set the mood for the night when you go to sleep AND for the rest of the family to be excited about tomorrow- WHAT DO YOU WANT?? think of that!! Its all about YOU!! Imagine doing something just to make your Mom happy and then regretting afterwards...

Re: Rehersal Dinner??

SweetP, your rehearsal dinner could be as informal as you wish it to be. For example, a backyard BBQ, or potluck dinner, or hanging out at the local pizza joint, or just hanging around the house munching on buffalo wings and fried green beans. Or you could go to your local Red Lobster, etc...

FH and I are doing the laid back thing, originally we were doing a backyard BBQ, but since it might be too cool, we'll probably just hang out somewhere informal, since we're having a Post-Wedding Brunch after the wedding.

Re: Rehersal Dinner??

we went to a restaurant but it was a casual thing--and had a great time!!!!!!! I think you know your participants---if they are not into the dressing up thing then maybe you need to tone it done. Remember the rehearsal dinner is your thank you to them so definetly keep them in mind. :)

Great advice guys!

We get more business from Rehearsal parties than we do engagement parties. Make this party personal. Even if you have it at a restaurant have special favors, a cool centerpiece and even consider party games. It s a great way to unwind before the big day and a better way to remind everyone of their upcoming roles and responsibilities. Print out our Rehearsal Dinner Checklist for more ideas.
