Although I'm already hitched, I may be planning an anniversary party in the future for another couple, and I'm curious about restaurant receptions for those of you who have had them and who are planning to have them. From what I hear, you can save a lot of money on food and drinks, and they're especially good if you're having a small number of guests. So here are the questions:
How many guests will you/did you have?
Were you allowed to decorate? Any limitations?
What did you do for music (if any)?
Do you/Did you have adequate dancing space?
Will you/Did you and your guests have privacy?
Any other pros/cons?
For those of you who researched this option when you were planning, why did you decide to use or not use this option?
If you did use this option, do you have any regrets or would you encourage others to go this route?

From what I hear, you can save a lot of money on food and drinks, and they're especially good if you're having a small number of guests. So here are the questions:
How many guests will you/did you have?
We had 100 guests
Were you allowed to decorate? Any limitations?
I was allowed to do my own centerpieces and decorations. They did, however, supply the table cloths to my specifications.
What did you do for music (if any)?
We hired a DJ.
Do you/Did you have adequate dancing space?
We had dancing space.
Will you/Did you and your guests have privacy?
The banquet room was reserved for only my reception. It was located upstairs away from the restaurant.
Any other pros/cons?
The only con is that we could've used more dancing space.
For those of you who researched this option when you were planning, why did you decide to use or not use this option?
I decided to use this venue because it was cheaper. We didn't want to go broke having a reception, but we wanted it to be elegant.
If you did use this option, do you have any regrets or would you encourage others to go this route?
I have no regrets, and yes I would encourage others to go this route.

My answers are posted in the body of the post.
Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37
We used a popular restaraunt that has their own banquet hall. They were very nice and the food was great. The capacity was 160 and it had a large dance floor.
How many guests will you/did you have? 150 invited/110 attended.
Were you allowed to decorate? Any limitations? Yes, nothing hanging from the ceilings
What did you do for music (if any)? DJ
Do you/Did you have adequate dancing space? more than enough!
Will you/Did you and your guests have privacy? Yes we did.
Any other pros/cons? The staff was very warm and accomodating. The price very reasonable because restaraunts get great deals.
For those of you who researched this option when you were planning, why did you decide to use or not use this option? My DH proposed there in one of the restaraunts private rooms for couples. Plus the food was great...We found out by accident that they had a banquet hall, full bar, etc.
If you did use this option, do you have any regrets or would you encourage others to go this route? No regrets....I have recommended it to others.
