Has anyone ever heard of the Sand Ceremony where black and white sands are blended in one vase? This is done in place of the unity candle. The vases are pretty (3 of them) and you use them as part of your home decor. Is any one familiar with this ceremony?

I read something about it in one of my wedding books. But I've never seen it done.
I have heard of this and seen it done once at a wedding. The minister said that the sands were a representation of each the bride and groom. He said something pretaining to their marriage being like the blending of those different color sands. He then said that in order for them to split up they should try and take back each grain of sand that belonged to them. Of course that's impossible!!. I'm sure I'm not explaining it correctly, but it was beautiful and very meaningful. Babieluvbug that should be a wonderful and different part of your ceremony. Congratulations!!!
