Well Ladies,I know it's about time I did my blog. My day is drawing near and I must admit I am a little nervous, but the nerves come and go. I try not to stress myself out too much because I want to enjoy the day I worked so hard for. I don't want to be bitter because of all the stress of the planning leading up to that day.

My wedding is in New York but I

Sen your venue is absolutely GORGEOUS !!! I love it !!!
Congrats on the weight loss. That's great. You should probably just try to maintain at this point so your dress won't need additional alterations.

How soon before your wedding are you going to New York?

Thanks Pam, I'm trying to maintain my weight now, and the venue is great they provide all the liquor open bar all night, all the linens and chair covers, all the food, they even supply the cake, and the chaple already comes decorated with flowers and all so that works out for me.

Mrs080908 great minds think alike as far as the colors go.
I picked my bridesmaids dress for my matron of honor at first but it did not work well for her since she is very slim. all my bridesmaids have the butt and hips to pull this one off nicely. So we just switched it up and everyone is happy.

I'm going to New York about 12 days before the wedding... and I have about 101 things to do when I get there, but small things. A lot of things are getting done by my family that are there. They are great.

We did not get our marriage license either so we need to take care of that as soon as we get there.

Well pam I must say this is the most stressful part of it all. Half has responded while the other half is incompetent when it comes to checking a box and sealing an envelope. I have a aunt that refuses to send hers back. She says that shes going and I know she is coming so why do she need to send it back. Let me remind you that I put a stamp on all response card envelopes so I feel you should atleast have enough class to send it back and not waist my money.

FH has a aunt and every minute she is asking can we add this person and can we add that person. Its getting frustrating. People just don't understand. I wish we could invite everyone but the truth is this aint no backyard barbeque

Sensationablyhappy, I'm so happy for you. Your wedding venue is absolutely fabulous!!! Would you believe that FH and I looked at booking Leonards as well, but being Haitiana, my family and his were like, they don't have our food, they don't have our this and they don't have our that. We got so frustrated and booked a huge hall instead, where they could have their this and that.

Leonard's is so breathtaking. I fell in love with it the moment I walked in there, but I didn't want to spend my money to have 150 Haitians not to even bother to touch the food.

I'm so very proud of you. You're already in Georgia? What else have you left to do?

Re: sensationablyhappy's Blog

LOL G, thats too funny. My family is Jamaican on both my mother and fathers side. The good thing about my family is that they are willing to try different things. They feel like they eat Jamaican food everyday at home, so when they go out they want something different for a change. Leonards food is so good thats the first thing people talk about as soon as you mention the name of the venue. Besides who doesn't like Italian food? not many people. Your family probably would of liked it if they tried it.

I have been in georgia for some months now.

I have my programs left to do, need to start my candy station, need to decide on a hair style, need to plan rehersal and rehersal dinner, decide on accessories, need to decide on what else I want to put on the tables besides the center pieces.

Im getting there.

sensationablyhappy and Ginoue. I didn't know there were so many Caribbean girls still on her. I LOVE that. I know what you mean, Ginoue about OUR FOOD. LOL. Most venues will accommodate. They charge more, but you can get most things including, Kallaloo or Souse just by requesting it. You KNOW there is at least ONE of us working there that can oversee the chefs! lol

It's not us young peole that are so rigid, it's those old farts. They won't eat it if it's not their own. THey're set in their ways. And the things that I would've had to have on the menu, I can't have it at Leonards. If it weren't for propriety sake, I would tell those old fogies to just stay home, but girl, they're the ones with the money as well, so...

If you're doing the Layered program, try paperandmore.com or anchorpaper.com, or you may want to visit OfficeDepot, OfficeMax and Staples to see if you can find what you're looking for.

Re: sensationablyhappy's Blog

Sen sometimes you can find boxed kits at different stores to make programs with. That's what Future meant by that and when she said latter, she was refering to the last part of her previous statement which was paper. She was basically asking wheter you were looking for a kit or were you just looking to by some regular paper. If you're planning on doing layered programs, you definetly want to get a jump on starting these now. Do you have anyone in GA that can help you assemble these?

Sen for the layered programs you can get your paper from:

www.cutcardstock.com
www.paperandmore.com

Or any office supply stores like Office Depot. Also craft stores like Michaels and Hobby Lobby.

Thanks ladies for the compliments on the invites, They were simple just the way I like it and matched my bridal party colors and thats all I needed.

The wording I chose for the invites was:

Just like a page out of a fairy tale
the storybook romance comes true...
Trecia Grey
&
Mike Johnson
along with thier parents
invite you to share in the joy
when they exchange wedding vows

and then the date, so on and so on.
