I'm a MOB for the first time, and even though I'm a minister who has conducted many, many weddings, I'm experiencing things from a very different perspective this time. (And no, I won't be conducting my daughter's wedding. I happen to be married to another minister--not her father, it's my second marriage--and he's doing it, which will be lovely!)
Here's my question. I want to give her a shower gift for which she is registered at Bloomingdale's. It costs $250 there, but I suspect that with some careful Googling, I can find the exact thing for a lot less somewhere else.
But If I get it for her somewhere else, it will remain on her registry and someone else might give it to her. (A Thought: who else but the MOB would be willing to spend $250 on a shower gift? The MOG knows I plan to give this to her.) Is there any way to get it off the registry if I get it somewhere else?
Seems to me this kind of thing would happen a lot, now that it's so easy to shop on line and hunt for bargains. How does this work?

I would assume that the bride could call the store and have it removed from her list once you give it to her. I have found great bargains on eBay for gifts, that were registered somewhere else.
In the past I have forgotten to show the registry at the register. So I call the store back after I get home. Just tell them the item has already been purchased and it needs to be removed from the registry.
Either you or your daughter can do it.
