Any of you amazing vibrides have a side hustle or looking to get into one for 2009?
I teach at night, and I love it. I also am about to get into some public health research....Not that interesting, but it makes a little change.
In my dreams I would like to open a confectionary or bakery/ice cream shoppe!
Anyone do hair? I wish I could!

I'm looking to get into something for 2009. I'm toying with different ideas. I know what you mean about the bakery shop though. The idea of going to cooking school to learn about baking wedding cakes has been going thru my mind, since I did decorate our wedding cake.
Eventually, I want to work for myself and say good-bye to corporate America.

I teach dance on the side..such as lyrical, tap,
modern, jazz, ballet, and hip hop. I have alot of church's
who have been needing my services lately. God is Good and the
extra funds are helping my parents with my Wedding.

It seems like we have a lot in common. I teach at night also (and online) and have an MPH so public health is my field as well. I teach for UOP. Where do you teach? I've done some PH research and am published as well and have two publications coming out.
Gotta have the side hustle....lol....
Now crazy is it that Turiya and I were JUST talking about getting serious about our side hustles and turning them into our only hustles! I do taxes but I'm thinking of buying an Ident-A-Kid franchise.

Thank you, my sister.
I'm a truck driver (18 wheelers) and I'm looking for a side hustle to earn extra money to buy my own truck this year. Hopefully, I'll come up with something soon.
Born Blessed!
Currently I don't have a side hustle. Although it would be nice to have one. You ladies have some wonderful side gigs and a lot of talent too!

I guess I'm lazy! LOL after working my 40+ I have no time or desire for a side hustle even though I could definetly use the money!!
Something for me to think about for 2009...
you ladies have it going on!!! :)
Those pamper cakes are so cute!
My side hustles are doing hair, which I used to do full time but I got a little bored, but now that I am not working-I am back in business. I also babysit, do gift baskets (mostly for babyshowers as well. Right now I am working at event planning as well for a friend of mine. I would like to start sewing, my mom made some good $$$ making clothes for friends and family on the side.

I teach as an Adjunct at FAMU. I teach Human Nutrition (I am a Public Health Nutritionist by day at the Health Department). We just did the last correction and I saw the draft for my first article (Well one that I am a first author on) on Friday, and it looks good. Its a review on Lactose Maldigestion in Minorities.....I have a MS in Clinical Nutrition & Nutrition Ed. I am thinking of getting a PhD either in Anthropology Studying Maternal & Infant Nutrition or in Public Health Nutrition. I am leaning towards the Anthropology route. As a grad student we published a few articles, but of course my name was like 3rd or 4th on the list! Still good for boosting the vita.
I have done party favors and party decor for friends, but for free. I don't have the extra time right now to go full force...If I did I would set up a website, create labels, etc.....Same thing for my cupcakes and party treats.....But one day....!

No you are not lazy LOL! You are a fabulous sister holding it down! I am a HR Consultant and I work atleast 50 or more hours a week and I am exhausted by the time I get home. I would love to do something on the side, but I need some more energy and a few more hands too LOL!

After working for Corporate America most of my Adult life, a few years ago, I was able to devote my time entirely to my Wedding Planning business and God has been so very good to me. But I do feel you sisters on the side hussle. FH is into Real Estate Investment, and as my schedule clears some this summer, I'm hoping to get into that as well, thereby increasing our net worth, and I'll be handling the day-to-day working of FH's business. He said that I'm meticulous when it comes to detail and my sense of organization is exactly what he needs in order for him to be able to totally concentrate on the leg work of the business.
I work at the Wachovia bank currently, but I got certified as a Personal Trainer last year. I currently have 3 clients and should be getting at least 3 more in the next couple of weeks. God has truly been blessing me in this area in my life to the point where I am getting overwhelming requests! God is good and prayerfully I can make this a full time thing in the next couple of years!
This is some daggone amazing information. I love you all! So much inspiration:)

Congratulations on your publication!! I know you must be very excited! Yea...I understand the PhD issue. I'm still debating on what I want to get mine in as well. Well, it looks like you have great ideas and a creative mind so I'm sure when you do start full force it will be a success!

I am working on a few side hustles for 2009. I work as a wellness coordinator in a corporate wellness center, and I am a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. For March and April 2009, I am planning on running an outdoor boot camp for women at the local park in my city. I am also doing some in-home personal training to make some extra cash as well. I have 4 months to go until my wedding and I need all the help I can get...

Hey Kameillion....you wouldn't happen to live in Atlanta would you? I received an offer from a friend of a friend that started the whole boot camp training in parks in Atlanta. It's become so popular that it's moving to other cities. I was just wondering if that's who you went through. Not that there aren't probably a trillion other people doing this, but it's a small world...lol..
Great Job !!!!
