I am doing silk flowers for the bouquets, but someone told me the groom's boutonniere's are usually fresh. Is that true? Does it matter?
I am not a flowery person, so I don't really know what to do. Who would notice if their bout's were silk or fresh. I would think people would notice the bouquets are silk before they notice the bouts.
Also, is there a big price difference between the two. I want to do what's cheaper, but I don't want to seem to "cheap".

*If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything*
The bouquets are normally fresh also but you are using silk flowers so whatever you do it should be consistant.
This is a silk boutonnier

My color's are black and white, with red accents. My bm's will carry white rose bouquets, my 2 moh's will carry red rose bouquets, the gm's need a white rose bout, and the two best men need a red rose bout.

Consistency works for me. I am using silk flowers for everyone.

I'm having a bunch of about 3 dozen ivory roses and 1/2 dozen of orange roses.
I will have a bunch also. Although the site does offer a cascading arrangement.

THanks Charly. You're right, it is pretty. I saw some on Mother's Day and I totally lost my mind! lol
IMHO I think silk is fine for ladies bouquet's because they may want to keep them later sentimental reasons. Guys donn't have that issue usually. Also they will be dancing all night with flowers on thier sholder. A soft natural flower with a nice scent will go over better during a slow dance than a scratchy silk one. It could even be presented to his dance partner in a chivalrous way. Much more romantic a gesture if the flowers are real.

Since our theme is Southern Elegance, I wanted to use magnolias and I don't know how much you ladies know about magnolias but once you cut the branch they start to brown within a few hours so silks really were the only option for me. However I went to Michael's and got my flowers and they look so real that everytime i show someone my bouquet they try to smell it. Since a magnolia is a big stately flower my accent flower is a blush/rose colored rose ( not open all of the way) the bout are the roses. My husbands is darker than the gm's and he has some rose colored berries in his just like my bouq. the girls have magnolia's and roses as well but no berries. I can't wait till I can download the pics so that you all can see.
Were getting married.........again!
Tara, I can't wait to see the flowers also.
