Hey ladies. Are you (or did you) have a "special reading" during your ceremony? If so, what is or was it? I'm having my neice do a special reading, but I'm still undecided. The pastor is covering all of my favorite scriptures pertaining to marriage.

Septbride,
My girlfriend writes poetry and she will be doing a poem for us. Not sure what it is yet, but she will surprise us.
I am going to have a special reading. I am going to meet with the dj and record a message to my fh and it will be played either as I am walking down the aisle or right before I walk down the aisle. Still undecided. It will simple be a message about how I knew from the first moment I laid my eyes on him I knew he was going to be my husband, and how much he means to me, etc....

House, when my cousin (a guy) got married, his wife did that and guuuuuuuuuurl it was beautiful!!!! There was very soft music playing as she said what she had to say. She talked about when they first met, things they've been through, funny times, etc - girl she even bought up the Zanzibar!!!! lol But, it was VERY beautiful and I think you should have it played BEFORE your grand entrance. I would use it, but they've already done it. lol
Dont you hate that.

Yeah, but to tell the truth, I would've never thought about it until I saw it done. lol
Hi ladies! Yes it has been a while but we will save all the reasons why for another post. the special reading I am having is from the Songs of Solomon. I found a bible that said it in plain english and skipped a verse here and there and listed it on my program As Adapted from the Songs Of Solomon

GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME; ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD. WHEN IN DOUBT, PRAY
I'm thinking of using an excerpt from Khalil Gibran's The Prophet titled "On Marriage..."
You were born together,
and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when white wings of death scatter your days.
Aye, you shall be together
even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup
but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread
but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous,
but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone
though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts,
but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together,
yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.
I had thought of using that poem from Khalil, over softly played music for either my entrance or as my bridal party entered. I think that would be beautiful. I don't know what I am gonna do...........so many ideas, but only one wedding!!! Haaaaa!!!
That is beautiful Musik!!!!
Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37
