Using my job's mail system

I send letters through the mail system at my job fairly often. I never really paid attention to the time it takes letters to arrive vs me stamping and mailing them - UNTIL NOW. I sent out the "will you" cards on Monday and everyone, even my MOH in Mississippi, received them Tuesday and Wednesday. And the mail isn't even picked up from here until 4:30 pm! Wish I could find a way to send out 200 invites this way! Maybe I could do 10 a day for 20 days. It won't be that bad, I'll just start with the out of town folks! Ahhh, the money I could save on postage! LOL!

Glad our US taxes are going to good use!!LOL!!!I wish I could have done that, sending out invites is .58, plus .41 for the reply envelope, so .99/envelope. That x100 or 200, that mess adds up! I forgot to budget for that

You may want to ask, our mail room will mail stuff for us as long as we pay for it. Matter of fact we can recieve packages here as well.

Oh my goodness I did the same thing.

Only 80 percent didnot send back their rsvp cards!!! Alot of money wasted. I was so upset. I also put alot of work into my invite I think I heard at least 12 people say I lost mine, I wanted to scream at them, but I just smiled and directed them to our website.

Re: Using my job's mail system

12 days to go and I'm still having to hunt people down to see if they are coming. What's the point of spending the money on the stamps if people won't use them?

Re: Using my job's mail system

We definitely didn't bother to supply the stamps for them to send reply cards. We did send an information sheet with wedding details so people wouldn't be misinformed. The sheet included the wedding colors, hotel and registry info and directions to everything. Schedule, and my cell phone number. Plus we sent the word out to family members way before the invites were sent. We ended up calling people until 1 week before the wedding. I feel like if you do not have the courtesy to either send the reply card back, or return my calls about coming to MY wedding or not, they truly you didn't want to come....If you at least call me to RSVP b/c you lost the invite then its cool.
On the day of the rehearsal many people asked me about how to get from here to here, and I said "Where is the blue info sheet that came with your invite?" that we worked very hard on-and of course my coordinator and mother shooed them away from me and gave them a good talking to about overwhelming the bride and not handling their responsibilities!

My Brother and SIL tried to do all RSVP's on website or via email only but they forgot over 50% of our family members who don't use computers like that so of course that put strain on me to RSVP everyone who were not able to use computers (i.e both sides of my family)....plus, I didn't find out they were doing that until I recieved an invite 3 weeks before the wedding withthe wedding information. I would have loved to remind her and my brother about that small little detail but when I offered my assistance in planning-no one wanted my help...oh well.
