There were 107 posts in the last one and getting off topic! lol. Poor charly and PB&J were in the corner! lol. I used real flowers. I prefer them. They smell great. Flowers symbolize so many wonderful things. Are the meanings still there with fake flowers?
Ok. Now I KNOW you guys aren't reading the articles! lol. There is an entire set of articles on flowers and their meaning s and customs surrounding flowers. SO WHY don't you read them and what did you do before you even NOTICED this forum??? [lol]
Mo was one of the first to come on the forums when I started it. Back then it was only 8 people that post but hundreds that tolled.
This is on Pros and Cons on Silk verse Real
Silk Flowers VS Fresh Flowers
Fresh smells nice BUT I can scent silks
Silk doesn't wilt
Silk doesn't freeze in cold weather
Silk bouquets are very light weight
Silk is just as beautiful & elegant as fresh
Silk is more durable than fresh
On your 25th wedding anniversary, you will be able to bring out your original bouquet to put on display.

Don't miss the article ladies! There's lots of info on this site, check out the bouquets on here are incredible.
I do not care how versatile silk flowers are or how long you can keep them (no offense) me personally - I want the real deal, I WILL have the real deal...even if I have to get a loan from the bank just for flowers. I love them, they make me smile and feel good, they are so beautiful and they add such a blessing to the entire event.
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
[quote="phenomonique"]If you shop around you can get live flowers for the price of silks.

I would really love to know where I can get real flowers for the prices i've seen for silks. Do you have any links to websites or some contact information?
Welcome Scarlet...I would rcomend you try going to a lesser know florist.Maybe your local flower show in the neighborhood will have good prices for roses, prices cheaper than Conroys,1800Flowers and so forth. My local flower shop has a dozen roses for $10, and their wedding packages start ar $70.Just check out all the places around you and try buyins a bouquet when you go and compare it to other places and see which one fits your budget and your taste.
Yes it is....and they are nice looking flowers too.At first I saw the sign but I thought it would look ugly but they're not.I will deffinately be going back to get my wedding flowers from there. The place doesnt look all fancy outside but they have good products inside...
So true Charley.I was thinking about using silk flowers but after that price I have changed my mind. Unless things change later (finacially) I will be using them for all my wedding flowers.
I dont know how you ladies feel about buying your floers off the internet, but here are a few sites that FH and I might be using. Deb's Silk N Weddings
[quote="HapplyMarried505"]i think silk flowers are better than real because they cost less look better and last longer than real flowers. a silk bouquet can last a life time and a real bouquet will die after a while. i'm using silk flowers on my wedding day and by using silk flowrers i; saving 500.00 dollars and the flowers will last me a life time. i say open your business back cause you can and will make a lot of much. good luck and best wishes. here are a few site that sell silk flowers i hope they help in your search.

They are some of the same choices our other sistah had...petty you never really got to hang out with her..I think you all have so much in common.
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
There are some great distribution centers in NJ. A dozen of calla lilies are only $12.00, exotic flower for close to nothing. When I do my crafts, my silks are pricey.
I still don't like silk flowers...I think that is what pictures are for and further once dust hit them---you will fling them so far the action itself will be a keepsake!!
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
I really like the options you have in the states - we have options too but the prices are just about the same...especially when the word "wedding" is assoicated with it.
