It will be cheaper to give one per household. You will be printing a cd for everyone that RSVP.

I guess you can do it anyway you like askalot. But if your family is anything like my family they will take it. I think that is the first thing people go to grab as soon as they sit at the table. How can you make your guest aware that the favor is one per family?
Askalot I gave wedding cds as favors too. I had them in little gift bags along with the other items I gave away -- so it was one per person for me. But as Housewife suggests, you can do it any way you want.

House, that's what I was wondering. I don't know how I would let them know. This is the thing, if I went to someone's wedding, my household would only need 1. I think I'm doing one per household because I'm doing lightscribe CD's and they are NOT cheap. lol If I was doing regular CD's, I could just do 1 pp. At Office Depot, I bouught a pack of 10 (lightscribe) for like $18. However, I did find some on ebay - 100 for like $60.
I'm doing Lightscribe cds too but we are having almost 300 people. I'm thinking of having them passed out after people are seated so we can keep track of who has one and who doesn't.

My FH and I were planning on 175. The problem is our family and his family alone would make 160. Then we both grew up in our church St. James and EVERYONE thinks that they had a hand in raising us. Granted yes, quite a few of them did have a hand in raising us and we would like to have some of them there but there are alot of people that both sets of parents are inviting just because of church politics. Plus my dad is a minister so it wouldn't "look right" if Rev. Ince didn't invite certain people to his daughter's wedding.
So from there the list just mushroomed. :( I'm hoping when the day comes we will at least be under 275.

You can make the CDs your escort cards if you want to give them out one per household. Your guests can pick them up from your escort card table and they will know what table they will sit at because the table number will be attached. It can work the same way with the hostess. She can give them the CD with the escort card attached to it.
So there would be a card attached to the CD which says,
"Mr. & Mrs. Brown: Table (1) One.
This will help you keep track of who has gotten a CD and who hasn't because if the couple is at their table then they got one.
If there are any left over (from guest not coming) you can have the hostess cut the cards off and put them in a basket so people can take an extra one when they leave the reception.
I like that idea a lot, but my question is, would I still have place cards? Also, don't you think it'd be a bit much for the hostess to thumb through all of those CD's to find the couples name? Unless you can think of another way...

I do have another way.... You can buy a plastic "tub" and have the CDs sitting in it in alphabetical order. One the guest come up the give the hostess their name. The hostess then thumbs through the CDs and finds the one for the couple.
Or you could have a master list which consists of names and table numbers, when the couple comes up and gives their names the hostess can cross them off the list and then give them a CD (with or with out the escort card).
Your hostess should ask the couple what "name" did they rsvp under. So the wife is not giving her name. So your hostess can find the couple if you have the couple under "mr. & mrs. doe". (Hope that was not too confusing.)
You can still have place cards at the table if you like. Escort cards are at a table (or however you want them to be set up) during the cocktail hour that your guest pick up so they know what table to sit at. If you want them in a specific seat at the table then you can use place cards with names at the tables.
Empress Rhony~ I have thought about wedding planning on the side. Just don't know how to go about doing it!
Sista girl, if that is something you truly want to do, then get your name out there. When it is supposed to happen, it will. Ya never know, you might be the next planner on "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway"!

That's a great idea but it may be a bit much for the hostesses and suppose some of the people don't show up. That's just my opinion though, it's your day do it your way!
DW, pray about that thing and if it's in your heart and in God's will it will come to fruition. You got my support and all of the vibride sistahs too.

Hi ladies. I'm also giving out wedding CD's as favors. Do you give one per person or one per household?
I'm also giving out wedding cake candles, which are one per person. Please help and thanks.

Hi Askalot, I did lightscribe CD's too and gave one per couple/household. I informed my hostesses to do that when they entered.

I think so or have your hostesses give them out once people are seated.
