i think u can pull red and white off. I bought lots of wedding magazines and i've seen it and it look quite nice as long as you know how to pull it off.
I think red and white will be fine in Sept I'm getting married in August and my colors are Ivory and Apple red.Have whatever colors will make u happy. U don't want to pick colors just because they're "in season" and end up regretting it.
Summer calls for bold robust colors and red is both of those. Like the other ladies suggested, you can play with it, try incorporating some platinum, to give it a little more elegance especially if reception will be after 6pm, maybe use two (2) different shades of red. Depending on when your wedding is, you can mix and match, do the eliminating process or get your girl phenomonique to send you some fabulous ideas. Congratulations and most of all have fun.
Blessed of God and Highly favored.
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
I think red and pink is amzing together too, southernthoughts. Della, the advice so far has been right on target. think shades of red. September is a great month for bold exotic color. Are your bridesmaids in red?
Your husband to be is right on target...didn't I tell you to incorporate platinum...the man has good taste [lol]...you can still use your red with his request...those colors looks wonderful together and you get the best of both worlds. Cali lilies are beautiful long stem elegant flowers, they go very good with an elegant color like platinum. Try it and see if you like it.

Wel, for cool hues you could mix mauve, lilac, sage, icy blue. And for bold mix fuschia, coral, emerald, turquois, purple. With Platinum and Ivory the posibilities are endless!
my favorite color is red and white and my hubby is black and blue, however 2 of my bridesmaids are full figured/plus size and i dont want them to feel uncomforatble in a red dress. one is my sister and one is by bestfriend so they feeling matter to me even thorugh its my wedding day i want them to be happy and comfortable in what they wearing that way we all have a great and blessed time.
May God Bless You and Keep you. Good luc in planning your Big Day
So think about incorporating White (your favorite color) and Navy (His Favorite) with platinum to tight them all together. There you have the best of both worlds.

I like the idea of platinum with the red. I am too getting married in Sept 06 and was dealing with the color scheme issue. I was leaning towards that burnt orange color and then I was looking a pink. But now that you have mentioned the red (various shades), I think that sounds great as well. My dress is going to be Ivory and a bold color would really set it off. This site is so great for advice.....
Dymeme...hey girl, those colors are perfect for the christmas season, just ensure that the eggplant matches with all your girls skin tone. While those colors are perfect for the christmas season it can look pretty funny on a really dark person.

Have you thought of having red as an accent color rather than the main one. If u have dresses in the main color and have red trim or sashes I mean it looks good with white, or black. ANd you could also make red ties or trim for your decorations.
