I am planning a wedding in February. My dress is white but has a lot of silver accents on it. I absolutly love this dress and want to incorporate silver into the rest of the wedding. I thought of have the bridesmaids wear silver, which might look good. If so what color of flowers? I think white and silver is just to plain. I would like to incorporate another color, but I don't know what. I really want the white and silver to be the main colors, just with another color to accent it a little. This wedding is happening way to fast and I need to make this decision quick. I would appreciate any idea you may have. Thanks for your help.

Definitely dark red for a February wedding. If your wedding were to be held in spring or summer, lilac or light blue go well with silver.
Oh I think almost anything could go with white and silver. Yellow and orange might be the only ones you would have to fuss with to make it work. Do you want your third color to pop out as an accent, or do you want it to sort of glow and be there, but not be something remarkable in and of itself?
Red, as has been said, would look sophisticated and stunning and be very appropriate near Valentine's Day. Burgandy would have a similar effect while being a bit less expected than the red and maybe a bit more old-world. Pink would be subtler and perhaps more nostalgic romantic. Any of these colors might also have the added benefit of adding a bit of glow to your BMs gowns - grey is a difficult color to wear for a lot of people.
Blues and purples would look stunning. In rich deep tones they would give a crisp accent to the silver. In pastels they would make a classic winter look.
Greens would play up the soon arrival of spring. In my not-enough-caffine-yet mind, greens would bring to mind new seedlings which have the promise of growth, life, and future - all rather wedding-ish feelings.
Yellow and orange, I think you would need a lot of to make it work. I have a feeling you are wanting just a smidgen of this third color. Black, in my opinion, would still require yet another color, probably red.

Greetings,
My first choice would be red since your wedding is in February. However, if you are looking to stay away from tradition I would even suggest midnight blue if your wedding was being held in a "colder" location. My main colors are silver and white and since my wedding is in September my accent color is Tiffany Blue or your traditional wedding blue.
I agree with the red, I just started wedding planning as a profession, and my first couples colors are white and silver with red accents. You don't have to go crazy with the red, just something to liven it up.
I like Duckie's ideas of pastels. That would be so elegant!

oohhh Midnight blue would be so chi-chi. Very sophisticated.

If you go with red you could also add a bit of pastel pink or if you want to go with a winter theme use baby blue

I am getting married on February 13, 2005. The wedding colors that I am using are white, silver, and periwinkle blue. The theme of my wedding is Cinderella. The flowers that I am purchasing are cream roses for sure. The other flowers will be purple anemones and blue hydrangeas.
I have a dilema. My fiancee has expressed he wants to wear either a brown suit or all balc suit at our wedding. My dress will be white and silver. Does anyone have any suggestions for a color to use. I owuld prefer him to wear black but i need a color for the bridesmaids etc.
MACluv welcome to the boards. When is your wedding and where are you getting married. That would help a little. Also our wonderful Site Administrator Rosetta has put together some "wedding color ideas and theme colors" which you may find helpful. You can find this list on the "Also on this site" area located at the bottom center of your screen. In any event, good luck.

thank you for the welcome. My wedding will be in either may or june of 2008. However I want to plan this wedding down to the tee and i feel like a date and a color scheme are the most important steps first. thanks for the good luck as well.
MACluv welcome to Vibride.com! I think the groom should always wear black. It's a Bond moment. You may never see him in a tux again! lol Have you looked at the article on color choices? It will help you decide because you can see them right in front of you. How about Celadon & Silver? or even silver gowns?

That is interesting Rosetta that you think the groom should always wear black. My colors are Navy & Platinum, will that work with me as well. I had told him he should wear a grey tux and he is putting up a fuss, and insists on wearing a black tux.

Gray is only appropriate for a morning wedding actually. And will rock with platinum and navy. If you are getting married after noon then your groom is correct, sorry. I just love a black tux. It is a MUST in a formal wedding. If he his just wearing a suit you can get away with any dark suit. But it is a very special occassion. You don't want him to feel like it's not special. Would you just wear a regular white dress or a church dress to get married? bet it wouldn't be your first choice! lol

I'm with Rosey on this one...the grom should wear black--it kinda solidifies the whole event. Rosey I love you and all but your new avatar is totally creeping me out.....
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
That's 3 votes for the black tux. ( smile)

hi ladies long time no hear well i have finally set a date june 28,2007. now i nee some suggestion on what colors go well witha summer wedding fixed on black tux and white dress.
Hello MACluv,
Congratulations on setting your date!! Your color choices are practically limitless. We used Victorian Lilac, Lilac, Black and Silver for our May 27th Wedding. The Bridemaids and Groomsmen, in Black tuxedos, wore the Victorian Lilac, the Flowergirls and Littlemen (Ring Bearer, Bible Carrier and Broom Carrier) wore the lighter color, Lilac. The Silver was in the ribbon on the flowers and the candlestands. Choose a color you like with the white and silver and you can either step down or up a shade to add some depth.
Best Wishes to you...Enjoy the planning and don't lose focus that in the end it is about your MARRIAGE the wedding the the celebration leading to that point

Hi MACluv!
.....Truthfully, you can do ANY color you want. Don't worry about what season it is....I would browse this site or you can visit theknot.com. I really love that website because it shows photo galleries of real weddings with ALL KINDS of very unique and traditional color schemes from the ceremony to the reception and the details in between. I would start with deciding on your favorite color or at least a color that you and FH can agree on (this is important if he wants to have input....you don't want to pick a color he hates) and then go from there. For instance, my FH both like Blue, but we wanted something elegant so I brought up that tiffany box blue and he was cool with it...Not too feminine, but not that dark masculine, or royal blue....
Today, people are really going with 2 or three main, bolder colors:
1)Teal, fuschia, purple, white and black....
2)Sage green, yellow, ivory, black
3) Orange, red, burgundy/fuschia, brown
4) Latte, Brown, Burgundy, Gold.
So as you can see, like the ladies said...sky is the limit!
Keep us posted!

That's exactly what I did! My wedding colors are champagne, latte, and gold, usually not the typical colors of summer, but who cares.

Again we're on the same page. I have same color scheme except I've added Tiffany Box Blue (probably 4 the centerpieces/decorations). I felt the same as it's a summer wedding & these colors are rather heavy, but I think we can make them work & pull them off. Don't be leery about it. If we look silly, so be it. It's our day....
