What is the difference between couture and bridal shops?

Hey all, I've found that I'm more interested in gowns from "couture" than just a David's bridal spot. What is the technical difference and where can you typically find colored wedding dresses

Good question. I don't know the differences, but the couture dresses seem a little fancier. What do you think?

Quality of the fabric, designer, design details. So you're right, the couture gowns are incredibly gorgeous. But the price can choke a mule. LOL

Coutour is just another way of saying expensive! LOL But it is just like Phenomonique said "Quality of the fabric, designerand design details are what makes a dress cooutout. Coutour boutiques usually offer designer and even one of a kind handcrafted dresses. But watch those sales people, they are really smooth and they WILL have you loving and convinced that you have to have a $3,000 to $3,500 dress.

All you'll right but 2ndtime, you are being kinda nice...girl you know those prices are astronomical...To me some couture are really not wearable, they are just run way styles. I do not care too much for David's bridal too...his styles are really becoming to common, you can actually identify a David's bridal gown. Keep looking girl and ask Phenomonique to help.

Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.

I thought I was the only one not impressed with David's Bridal. But, my girlfriend found a beautiful dress at David's. It was phenomenal with navy blue details etc. I guess the idea is just to look as beautiful as you can. In this instance, I think there is no better gift than time. You have time to look for what you want. Let us know when you find it. The ladies of Vibride have EXCELLENT taste!!!

By the way Nikkitp, that gown you loved is Haute Couture. It's beautiful, but like I said before, take you time. Look at other gowns.

Again, you are a God-Send. But uhh, forgive a girl for being uneducated in this...what does "Haute" Couture mean?

Haute Couture are exclusive designs, which means that designer can charge a mega grip for it. Couture indicates higher quality fabrics are used the create a design, and you only have to pay a grip for this. LOL!! And like CharlotteModebe pointed out, most of it to over the top to wear. Have you looking like BIG BIRD at the alter.
