What kind of food?

I have a question. What type of food are you ladies having served at your reception. Soul, Spanish, Carribbean or other?

We had our reception at a restaurant that served portuguese and brazilian food. The food was delicious and our guests loved it.

Rhony, Brazilian and Portuguese food sounds great! I wanted Italian food for my reception but since we are planning a destination wedding, that's a different story. If we decide to renew our vows, we'll probably have Italian. (Lasagna and other pasta dishes)

We were having Italian, but we have all country people coming who don't like red sauce and blah blah blah so then I decided on roast beef to shut everyone up. My coordinator said no, I should have what I want to have. I don't know what genre it is. She picked out the final menu w/o me.

It's probably crusted chicken almondine or something similar. She didn't believe in making the wedding "country" just because the people attending are country. I pretty much let her take over except on the music and flowers.

Oh your good. Girl I would be a nervous wreck not being in controll of the details of my wedding. In fact I have completely taken controll of my bridal shower. I will however let my bachlorette party be some what of a surprise.

im still working on a menu. since we live in tampa i am OVER red beans, its a constant here. but since the guests are diverse i am talking from one extreme to other. from drinking french wine from their own vineyrad since childhood to colt 45. to get a happy medium is gonna be fun.

But look at how much time you have. All we had was a deposit on our wedding venue on Jan 27th when we moved up the date to March. Many other people decide to take a year or more to focus on details and do things themselves. You've already seen the drama on my blog. Just imagine if I had to oversee everything in such short amount of time plus the other drama. SMH @ that thought. We wouldn't have made it. Even with my coordinator taking over, this has been a horrible stressful process.

finger-licking, soul food! can't stand going to a wedding only to be served foo-foo dishes. I even feel bad not eating it knowing that the couple probably spent big money on all that barely-edible garden leaves or whatever that mess is!

I agree, but with our country families, everything is foo-foo but BBQ. SMH. Oh well.
