Hi ladies, I am not much of a Do-It-Yourself person. However, in an effort to save some money, I want to decorate the toasting glasses for my bridal party. I have purchased the ribbons, etc. to be used on the glass. My question is what kind of glue do you use. Do you use craft glue, crazy glue or is there another kind of glue to use to stick the ribbons to the glass. I want to make sure they stay put and dries clear. This might seem like a crazy question to all of you pros, but I'm new at this so I thought I would ask.

I am not a pro, but I have done some DIY projects also to save money. If I were you, I would probably use a hot glue gun. I think that is the best kind of glue to use with glass.

I agree with B2B, hot glue! If all else fails you can always ask someone in a craft store what they suggests.

i have nothing constructive to offer you. BUT I wanted to share with you what I thought when I saw this post...
Q: What kind of glue?
A: The kind you can sniff. Because we need to get a lil high sometimes to stop dressing over these weddings.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way. ~ Pablo Neruda

Too funny, FutureMsLee you are crazy -- but I appreciate you -- I so needed a laugh (dealing with a situation at work). Right on time!

hot glue may be fine with ribbons, but if you want to put rhinestones on it, hot glue will not work!
Spray adhesive is another kind used in crafting that leaves very little mess, residue or evidence. They use it a lot in papercrafting for this reason, but I think it can be used in all types of crafting as well.
Have a great day!

I would have to disagree with you Tonya. When I was playing around with my centerpieces last year, I glued some heart shaped rhinestones to my glass bowls using a hot glue gun. I changed my mind about how I want the centerpieces to look now, and I can't get the friggin rhinestones off!

I tried to put rhinestones on our wedding glasses and they were messy! Maybe because the stones were so small, but I didn't have to good experience with it.
Use crazy glu for detail work. Apply the glue to the back of the object you are adding with a straight pin. It will take a long time. Don't try to rush it. Hot Glue should not be used for detail work. Especially if you don't use it often. Oh the burns! lol
