Just thought I'd throw the question out there. :-) I see a lot of 2006 wedding dates. My date is set for Sept. 15, 2007. I'm planning now because I want as less stress as possible. I planned an anniversary party for my parents last year and was stressed out of my mind - partially because it was a surprise.

You are doing the right thing by planning early. I think you have time to think about what you want and you have the time to make it happen. My wedding is 11/06 and I started planning in March of this year, I don't want to be stressed either -- and before you know it 9/15/07 will be staring you in the face! Have fun with your planning.

Mine is August 26,2006. I definitely agree with starting early. Even if it's just taking a few months to look around at reception/ceremony sites or just to think and talk about what you want. We started in August 2004. In fact, I ran into another bride who was booking a reception venue we were looking at. She had just become engaged the night before. Talk about starting early. But anyway, good luck to you and the time will fly by.
Our wedding is now slated for December 2, 2006...It was originally for May '06, but things happen. I am/was having problems finding a reception locale that I love. We also realized that it rains often during the Spring/Summer seasons & we wanted to stay away from the Hurricane season months as well. Another plus is that it doesn't get dreadfully cold in Ft Lauderdale during the winter months, anyway.
I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.

My wedding is June 17,2006 in Tallahasee,FL. Right after the end of the school year but plenty of time before school starts again.

My wedding is Sept. 2006. Summer is not quite over and Fall is well on it's way. In my family, beautiful things have happened; we have had weddings, family reunions and a few sad moments (but we all know that God doesn't do any wrong). So I am looking forward to my time next year... Started planning in July and feel like the early start was needed. Between working, going to school and taking care of house and home, I'm surprised my head is still on.

Our wedding date is October 21, 2006.
My wedding is Nov 17, 2007 we will be renewing our vows and i'm so glad that i started planning now, its so many much things that need to be done. our first wedding was short and simple so now that i'm planning a big wedding its more stressful, but i'm glad that i have this site to help. its full of great smart women to help me out.

Not only will you be less stress out but it will give you time to pick chose and refuse any item, you will find that you save so much money and you can actually have fun at the last minute planning cus most of the time we are stressed out is because we have so much more things to do and buy and not enough money.

Charlotte is right. My wedding is in 11/06 and I started planning in April of 2005. I have already started buying the little miscellaneous items. My fiance and I have set a budget and we are in a position to make choices based on our desires and our budget, and we still have time to shop around.

Our wedding is planned for July 29, 2006 at 4:00pm in South Georgia. We are currently living in Louisiana because he is in the military. But we will share our nuptials in my hometown.
Staring early is best. Our wedding is July 15, 2006. We started planning in 2004. We decided on possible dates first then we searched out reception sites. Our reception site is at a fabulous hotel's ballroom where all receptions begin at 7:00pm. From there we knew how to judge a time for the ceremony which will be at a church. I've said all this to say starting early gives you more options minus the stress. Good luck.

Marsh, you are so smart to start way in advance and the ballroom idea sounds amazing.. I can feel the romance in the air and they have a starting time of 7 pm...cool, a perfect setting for dimmed lights and lots of candles, beautiful...very beautiful.

I will be a June bride. June 9, 2006. We started planning in Feb '05. I thought I had all the time in the world and now I am exactly 6 months away. I am getting a little nervous. Worried about things not falling into place the way we planned. Back in February, the date seemed so far off, but now it's a reality. I say all this to say...the earlier the better. Congratulations to all 2006 brides. My wedding date is June 3, 2006 and I started planning September of this year. I've booked the venue, found a DJ, photographer and have a person making my cake. I just found my dress last week, I'm doing the invitations and favors myself. So everything will be in place by then.

Our wedding is on October 1, '06. My friends are all teasing me about how early I'm starting to plan but it's just so much to think about and most of my family is not in this area so I don't know how much help I'm going to have. I've decided not to risk being committed to a mental institution come next September so I've picked the venue and the flowers and the bridesmaid outfits (they're dressy pants suits) already.
I feel you ladies I started planning in January 05 our wedding is March 25, 2006. I am so stressed right now trying to make sure everything is just how I envisioned it. I haven't been on the boards for awhile, because I had my second daughter in october. It's always a good thing to start early especially in my case I ended up switching my theme around october. My mom is making fun of me right now, because after I had the baby she kept pressuring for answers and I finally asked why she was rushing me I still had 6 months. Ladies I only had 4 months. I lost 2 months somewhere (lol).
All of us seem to know that early planning is the best, however I like the way Karenita1 put it when she says she has "decided not to be committed to a mental institution" (lol) -- too funny, but Karenita! girl you are right on target!!!! It can be very stressful if you procrastinate -- time goes by really quickly and before you know it you will be standing inf front of the Officiator! Congratulations Lamani22 on the birth of your second daughter -- you are very blessed! It is easy to loose two months between planning a wedding and giving birth -- hats off to you I don't know how you are doing it!!!! Share you secret girl!
