This is my second marriage. First wedding. It has been really crazy as far as being reasonable ('cause I am almost 40 and don't want to spend a fortune on the wedding) and organizing a wedding that is not cheap or tacky. This is my first post and I just wanted to say the site is wonderful and just to give some valuable input that I have found since this journey has begun...lol
First: As to who does what (re: bridesmaids/MOH) Once you have your bridesmaids selected, consider creating a simple newsletter in Word. In your newsletter, include a little bit about each person and why you have selected them. This is also the time to let them know what you expect their responsibilities to be, i.e. planning showers, whether they pay for their own dresses, etc. You can also include important contact numbers/email addresses, inform them of important dates, provide them with suggested dress ideas...you get the idea! This is especially helpful if any of your bridesmaids are from out of town. You can start the newsletter as far in advance as you like. And update it monthly or as often as you wish to keep everybody and everything flowing smoothly.
Second: For second timers who are a little older...I found a great book titled
The Wedding Guide for the Grownup Bride
. It is written by a sister (Shelley Chritiansen) and next to finding this site, has been my lifesaver.

Rosey without the risk of sounding stupid (well actually I feel stupid for asking it) but I am a curious and I like to aske questions...I do not like to assume...what do you mean by "bump"...this is the second time you've posted this word?
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
Charly, I posted the same question in another thread she put "bump" on. LOL!
I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.
Delight yourself also in the Lord & He shall give you all the desires of your heart.-Psalm 37:4
lol. Not silly at all! It means bump this thread to the top. If I think something is worth looking over I will bump it. Anyone can do it.
