Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

So, I guess I should have asked how the layered programs work for a large wedding where there is lots of info./names to put in the programs?

I saw one sample where the bride had two "ceremony" pages because her ceremony was so long. I guess I could do that for my acknowledgments.

Keithsbride ~ there's nothing wrong with having 2 of the same pages. All you have to do is make one a little longer than the other. That's what I'm doing as my bridal party is 28.

Keithsbride ~ I've just sent the instructions and templates to you. Sorry so late. Remember, as our sisters have said to start this project at least 3 weeks prior to your wedding as this is very time consuming.
Welcome to the board cathymurphy and sensationablyhappy! If anyone needs templates send me your email. I have a few I can send to you to play around with.

Would you please send me the templates you have. I am starting on my DIY projects this weekend. my email address is mscreneet@yahoo.com
I placed my order today for my cake topper letter. I will go out this evening to purchase the rhinestones that it go on it. I also purchased my aisle runner which I will start painting the monogram on today
Painting your runner? You should decal it instead! I work for a decal company and they are going to cut out my monogram in vinyl so I can apply it to the runner. It can then be peeled off and be reused. I saved money by doing this since I can rent the runner and return it when I'm done instead of having to buy it. My florist actually gave me the idea.

Another note of advice that I would suggest you start this project at least 3 weeks ahead of time as it is so time-consuming.

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

I just finished putting the programs together. THe only problem now is that I suck at tying a bow, so off to beg my sister to help me out.

We ended up with 7 pages total - a cover, the announcement, the welcome, the ceremony, the wedding party, the family, and the acknowledgement page.

I had a the paper office print them, and the only problem was that on some of the black paper for the background, there wasn't much paper showing. They are still beautiful and I thank you all for sending me the templates!!

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

Thank you, I received it. My first date was scheduled for July 19, 2008 but I decided to reschedule my date for March 7, 2009. Why? Hurricane Season. No that wasn't it...I had 9 months to plan my day and before I knew it I had 4 months to go. I could have pulled it off but I wasn't thrilled about my venue (doesn't allow candles or ceiling swaging), I changed the color scheme twice, couldn't decide on centerpieces (didn't want flowers), couldn't decide on a honeymoon location (still haven't), hadn't selected bridesmaid gowns (found but still looking) and couldn't find my gown (FINALLY FOUND). Well, it wasn't that I wasn't looking...I couldn't find anything I liked. LOL

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

Shaz, don't worry about it. This is your day. It's your wedding and you want it to be perfect because you're not planning on doing this again, so it's understandable that you may want to find exactly the things you want to pull it together.

I understand what you mean about rescheduling. I'm debating the same thing myself because I'm so busy (I'm a Wedding Planner/Coordinator). I can't let my clients down as these weddings were booked way prior to my own engagements. I always give my clients the very best of me as most of them come from referrals of past weddings I've done. It's lot to undertake and I have a lot of DIY projects and that list keeps on growing on me.

What part of South Florida are you in? I've lived in South Florida most of my life and will be returning after my wedding (Ft. Lauderdale to be exact).

Again, congrats on your upcoming wedding.

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

Oh my goodness you know exactly how I feel. I am a certified Wedding Planner and working on my certification as a Special Event Planner. In addition to planning my wedding I have or had (2nd wedding was last Sat.) 3 other weddings to plan & coordinate. I'm working on my business website, logo, marketing materials, and I have other local events that I oversee. So I was about to lose it when it came to planning my own.

It has been an interesting journey thus far...

Being in the industry my planning process has been like work as usual. I don't think it has truly occurred to me that its MY WEDDING I'm planning.

I live in Pompano Beach.

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials.

Shaz ~ Just treat your wedding like you would a client's and you'll be just fine. That's what I'm doing. I love what I do and can't see myself as doing anything else. After all the years in Corporate America, this one is taylor-made for me. Good luck to you.

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

Hello Ladies,

I am new to this site and I adore the wedding programs. It is ironic that the programs that bama bride made are the same colors as my wedding. I am getting married on Nov 8th and I wanted to get a head start since I live in Wichita, Ks and I getting married in St.Louis, Mo and all my bridesmaids live in St.Louis, Illinois, or Texas. So Robert, my furture Husband, and I will be the only ones assembling the programs since my family also lives in STL. Can someone please send me the template to the DIY wedding programs? It would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance! Also I did my own save the date magnets and everyone is loving them that I have sent them to so if anyone is interested in what they look like let me know!

thanks

I know this post is about the wedding programs which are AMAZING I am using them for my wedding... But I need help on something else for my wedding and I know there are a couple of wedding planners on here that might be able to help me.... For my wedding I am having candles that clamp to the pews, but I am having a hard time coming up with a way to hide the clamps... I don't like bows or tulle, so I dont know what else can work... My flowers are roses, and mini calla lilies. our colors are red, black, and silver... If anyone has any suggestions that would be awesome. Thanks

cmeliw - Have you considered using satin or silk materials instead of tuling? could you post a picture of the clamps? That way I could better help you cover them and help you to incorporate your flowers in them as well.

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

Thank! Our wedding is August 22 this year. My colors are clover green, black and white. We're having a big wedding (about 350 guests). I have 6 bridesmaids, sister is my MOH but she's driving me crazy because she does NOTHING! We also have a flower girl and 2 ring bearers.
The flowers are a mixture of different white flowers, hydrangea, and roses.
I'm pretty much planning it myself, but I consider myself pretty organized, so far so good. I'm looking for a lot of DIY stuff like these programs, so i can cut back what FH and I have to contribute financially, so we can spend more money on the reception (food and drinks, etc..)

So that's that. I hope I'm doing alright.
I stumbled upon this forum by accident and I'm so glad i did. This is perfect.

Do you think this could be done with white paper, a black backing, and a green ribbon? If not, do you have any other ideas? Maybe green backing (although I think it might be hard to find just the right color) and a black bow. OR black backing, white paper and a sheer organza bow. I can make the watermark in a green color.

Hmm, so many options!!! What about all of you?

I think that whichever way you decide to go will be absolutely fabulous.

I am Azalea and Gold backings with alternating Azalea and Gold paper, and also plan to alternate the ribbon colors as well to match the backings.

Hi Soon, and welcome. You will find great support and ideas here. The ladies are so helpful. How about black backing, white paper with green watermark and do the ribbon in green. I think that would be pretty.
