Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

that sounds pretty ginoue. I love the azeala and gold, looks gorgeous together.

I can't seem to find any green ribbon :(. Looked at AC moore yesterday and michaels. They're having a big sale on the tiny spools and I did see TONS of that pretty azeala/hot pink color (which I LOVE LOVE LOVE)

MrsC, maybe they're out. Since they're having a sale, they'll be restocking often. Just keep checking though.
Do you think this could be done with white paper, a black backing, and a green ribbon? If not, do you have any other ideas? Maybe green backing (although I think it might be hard to find just the right color) and a black bow. OR black backing, white paper and a sheer organza bow. I can make the watermark in a green color.
Hmm, so many options!!! What about all of you?
Welcome SoonBMrsC. I think the black backing white paper and green ribbon would be GORGEOUS. I think this is a better contrast of colors than if you did a green backing. A green watermark will set it off nicely.
I think that whichever way you decide to go will be absolutely fabulous.

I am Azalea and Gold backings with alternating Azalea and Gold paper, and also plan to alternate the ribbon colors as well to match the backings.
Ginoue for the azalea paper, what color ink do you plan to use? Black ink on the azalea might be hard to read.

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

You know Pamcrow - originally, that was the plan, however, the more I thought of it, I will be doing the Program backings in Azalea and Gold, that's still true enough, however, here's how I saw it and let me know what you think:

Azalea Backing, Ivory paper and Gold ribbons.

Gold Backing, Ivory paper and Azalea ribbons.

I plan on using black ink. What do you think? Any suggestions? Appreciate it very much.

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

Yes, I like that idea, with the alternating backing instead and ivory paper instead of pink paper. Like the PP said, might be slightly hard to read. You can even get ivory pearlized paper that has a gold tone to it???

Did you get a chance to send that template by chance? Sorry if I'm a pain... You guys are really great!

Hey ladies,

I thought someone mentioned in this post or another one that these programs cost like 20 dollars to make. Can someone please tell me how you're going to achieve this. I love these programs, but may have to change because the high cost of ordering the paper and ink and ribbon I need.

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

Keithsbride, you didn't read the entire post in which we went back and forth on the subject. This program will only cost you about $20 to make if you already have the paper you need (scraps left over from DIY invitations for example), and all you have to do is order ribbons. If you read further in the post, you'll note where I gave how much it will cost if you don't already have partial supplies.

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

Keithsbride, by your ticker, I noticed that you have about 17 days to go. As a Wedding Planner, if you're doing this alone, I wouldn't suggest it because as I've previously stated, it's extremely time consuming, and takes about 3 weeks to do it alone. I'm sure all the ladies who've tackled this project will confirm that it's as frustrating as anything if you're doing this for the first time and alone. However, if you have people helping you out and you're doing this production line style, then by all means, go for it. If not, I would suggest a simpler design as you're coming down the wire and a lot of details rest on your shoulders if you don't have a coordinator. So, truly think about it to see if you really want that added stress alone.

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

Yeah G, I did read that entire post, but all the back and forth that you mention is what I guess was confusing me about the cost to produce these things. And I have been consulting with a coordinator and working with a team of event specialists that are willing to help me with whatever programs I choose. My only issue was the cost. So, it's clear now!!!

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

hey ladies know this is a little late but I thought I would let you know that I am making these invitations too and my fiance and I are on a tight budget so we are buying the paper we need from hobby lobby... We have to make 200-300 programs (we have a big wedding), and we are ordering it all when it is 50% of so it will cost half as much... We have planed about $150-175 for all our supplies... Hit up the sales is my suggestions especially hobby lobby... Hope this helps

cmt try using a different font or size. For your headings, try a different font as well or make them smaller and use all caps. Also if you do your headings as a separate text box you can put them a little lower.

Re: DIY Layered Wedding Programs

Hey ladies. I'm in the midst of the beginning of the entire planning process. I have an upcoming August 2009 wedding, so there's still plenty of time left for lots of DIY projects. One I know that I'll be adding to my list is this layered wedding program. Both of you ladies (bama and future) have a very unique idea and I love it. So I hate to be a pain, but if someone could send me the template that I can follow in an attempt to create these it would be greatly appreciated.

emspecht@aol.com

Thanks ladies and looking forward to seeing more ideas posted on here

Okay,
So I am getting ready to do my programs. I went online to buy the paper and realized that I have no clue as to what weight to get. So, will someone who know something about the paper weights let me know which one to buy. PLEASE, PLEASE...

If you guys give me until the weekend, I'll be able to send templates, intructions and everything. I forgot my flash drive containing all that information at a client's house and she's posting it for me. So, as soon as I get it, I'll be more than happy to share.
