Inviting Divorced Relatives

Here is the situation. I really don't know what to do!?!

I have an Aunt that divorced her husband about a few years ago. Since the divorce, I haven't heard from her or seen her. Luckily, I am still in contact with the rest of the family.

Should I still invite her? Am I really obligated to invite her? However, I really truly feel that I might offend her if I didn't.

How is it popssible to offend someone who you do not a current relationship with...stop stressing the small stuff. Invite people you are involve with and stressing yourself out.

I really don't know what the proper etiquette is around such situations. But your wedding is your wedding and you should invite only those guests who you really want to share you special day with. You shouldn't invite anyone out of obligation or the fear of offending them. I would suggest invite her if you truly want her to be a part of your day. Anyway QueenAkasha, I'd like to wish you the very best....where ya been, haven't heard from ya in a while????

She is your aunt. Invite her. If she doesn't come, it will be through no fault of yours and it's simply the right thing to do.

My question is...would you have to hire the privte investigator to find her to give her an invitation?

Re: Inviting Divorced Relatives

Thanks funny C.M., no it's not hard to find her. I can ask my cousin (her daughter)where her whereabouts are.

It is just I not sure if I should invite her. I might just break down and invite her. After all, when my cousin married, I was invited too.

CM...yeah, I do have a consistent relationship with my cousin.
Like any other bride, I like to please. But, you can't please everybody.
Thank you so much for the advice. I do feel better.
